“Great location, tiny rooms and awful parking.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

First off, the hotel is in a great location in downtown Vancouver. The area you're in reminds me a lot of Manhattan. There are a TON of food/drink options within a 2 block radius, in 3 days, we never went to the same place twice.

There is a GREAT bar right next-door to the lobby. Highly recommended, and on the other side is a coffee shop.

It's a very old hotel, and has a weird layout. There are 2 different halves to the hotel, and we got to our floor and couldn't find our room. We had to go through 2 doors marked "Fire Door, do not open", to get to our half of the hotel, from the elevator. That just seemed weird.

Parking isn't a great option, there is a "self park" area next to the hotel with room for about 20 cars. You enter from the alley, and it's one way, so you try to pick a spot closer to the alley, so you can back-out. And a lot of the time, there are delivery or service trucks in the alley, so getting out can be a pain.

The rooms are TINY. Basically just big enough for the bed and TV stand. Bathroom is separate. No other furniture in the room except for the bed.

We're glad we got to visit that part of town, but considering the price, we won't be staying there again.

We stayed here for a couple of days before leaving on our cruise to Alaska. The hotel is in a pretty central location, close to downtown shopping, and tons of restaurants in walking distance. There's a shopping district about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It's also pretty close to night clubs although we didn't go to any while we were there. Some folks have said their rooms were was noisy, but our room 505 was pretty quiet. We were not on the front side of the hotel, which is the only place with a view. The front desk staff are very helpful and were able to recommend dining and sight-seeing options in the general area. Overall a very good hotel that we would definitely stay at again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the front side of the hotel if you want a quiet room.

Everything from check in until check out went smooth. The place and linens where very nice and clean as well as the showers being hot and well stocked with nice toiletries. Amazing location central to everything friendly staff especially Sam who was great at awnsering questions and accommodating any requests. Security was good because to get into stair well and rooms is by key card and the only way in by the front desk has somebody there 24/7. Only negative things are a little bit of access noise from the clubs friday-saturday and the fan/ac being very noisy but these are bearly issues and completely reasonable given the price. Would defiantly go back next time I stay in Vancouver!!

Room Tip: Request back of building away from clubs and always ask what deals they can provide.

Dear Hat M,

Thank you for taking time to review the hotel and for your recent stay with us.

We appreciate your comments and tips to fellow travelers. We are happy to say that Ginger 62, the nightclub behind the noise, is now closed and the business has been sold. We have now enjoyed a couple of fairly quiet weeks at the hotel.

We look forward to serving you again on a future trip through Vancouver.

Kind Regards
