Ramada Limited Vancouver Downtown
Ranked #54 of 92 Hotels in Vancouver
Reviewed 17 July 2012

I didn't realize that Vancouver is a very expensive city. The hotels are pretty pricey and food is expensive. So to start of with that context, the Ramada Limited served its function. It was a place that provided us with shelter without bedbugs. This hotel offered free Wifi and a not so great free breakfast.

I suggest bringing your own shampoo and soap. They offer some awful San Francisco soap company brand that leaves a residue on your skin. The front desk was helpful and the hotel is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver.

Thank you for reviewing our property. Yes, Vancouver can be considered to be an expensive city, it really all depends on what you are used to. I am surprised that this reviewer was not a fan of the washroom amenities. All Ramada's use the same product in the washrooms (San Francisco Soap Company). It is a refreshing citrus soap that we have recieved quite a bit of positive feedback about.

Thanks for reviewing our property! Our hotel is located right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is a pretty big city and with that comes some social issues including homelessness. That being said, Vancouver is considered to be a very safe city and all of our guests should feel more than comfortable walking around at any time of the day or night. Generally speaking, the worst thing that will happen is that you may be asked to "spare some change"....but this will happen no matter what area of Downtown Vancouver you stay in. Come try us out, I am sure you will love the character of our little 100 year old building and the friendliness of our award winning staff.

We stayed here during June 2012 and found it be vrey convenient for transport and sightseeing, although on first appearances the area is a bit seedy. Staff were very helpful, however our room was dark with no window and pidgeons outside cooing at all hours.

I am happy to say that we have been sucessful in keeping the pigeons away from the windows and therefore our guests are getting peaceful evenings with no "chatter" from the birds! All of our guest rooms do have windows, however, some windows on the lower floors are smoked for privacy. For all future guests, if you have any concerns about your room please let our staff know right away and we will do everything we can to accomodate your requests. We want all of our guests to leave happy and wanting to return!

Stayed June 30-July 6/12 Room is OK you get what you pay for and this is a 3 star property. Beds are comfortable and the room we had 507 had a jaccuzi tub and A/C. However not sure who picked the rock for the flooring in the bathrooms. Somewhat rough....What makes it a 4 star is the staff. Always at the ready to answer questions and give options for dinner. Breakfast supplied is minimal but Rickys is just a couple blocks away.
Convientley located to Chinatown, Gastown and Canada Place. Took in the The Tower (revolving restaurant) similar to Torontos Tower on Canada Day which enabled us to see the fireworks. Great View. Hop on Hop on bus is within 3 blocks and a good deal for 2 days -45$. Got a good rate because we booked well ahead 133.00$ per night. Well worth the value being downtown vancouver. Within walking distance of Stanley park. Staff speak many languages so English is not a barrier.

Room Tip: Room 507 and 512 are very nice.....

We stayed at this hotel because of the great location. It is walking distance to public transportation, restaurants, shopping, Chinatown, Gastown, and Canada Place (where you can pick up tours including Hop on/off and free shuttle to Capalaino Bridge). The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and offered hot meal choices, the eating room is small but you are able to take your food back to your room. The rooms were clean and included typical amnetiies. This is a reasonably priced hotel for downtown and a great location for exploring. I got a 30 minute chair massage around the corner for $30 and it was well worth it! We were tired and didnt want to use public transportation to the airport, the asst. manager offered to call a taxi for us which was there in a few minutes and was $28 (make sure you ask for the airport fare).
Overall a great place to stay.

This is a great hotel. Well positioned and very comfortable. My partner had stayed here before and really liked it so we went back!
Reception staff are very welcoming and helpful and our room was large with a microwave and coffee machine as well as a fridge (not a mini-bar but a useful cold space!!). The bathroom was large and well laid out with a good selection of complementaries!
The included breakfast is excellent. selection of fruits, cereals, coffee, bagels, pancakes, eggs, the list goes on!
There is free internet access limited to 30 mins and recepion staff are happy to help with printing!
Overall an excellnt hotel with excellent service.

Room Tip: The higher floors have less chance of a window facing a wall!

It's just typical. Typical non-existent view, typical well-lit boring corridors, typical slow carpet bounce, typical simple reception, typical bubbly young reception staff who knew quite a bit, typical guests (mainly middle aged friendly Americans who are afraid of any funk and of elevator conversation), typical room with typical channels all amidst a very comfortable bed. It serves its purpose and the breakfast is alright. Absolutely no communal areas (no bar, no room service), and the breakfast area has friendly staff, lame bagels, great coffee, but no windows. The highlight is the area which is absolutely prime between some great little streets, and the fascinating dark side of Canada: poor 'ol whacked out East Hastings. As no one ever said... "it's hard to criticize toast and vanilla yogurt when all you expect is a simple breakfast..." Or perhaps it's more eloquent to describe it as "Mehhhhhhhhhh".

Room Tip: Try to get a view of a street I guess, otherwise you're facing a wall. 2nd and 3rd floor woudl b...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. This is a very interesting review and shows the variety of guest's intrests while here in Vancouver. The review states that we do not have a bar or room service. We actually have a great little bar/restaurant right beside us. It is called Yagger's Sports Bar and Restaurant and they provide room service to our guest rooms. Their menu's are in all of the guest rooms and they will actually give you 10% off your food bill if you eat at the restaurant. We are centrally located and close to everything you might want to see/do in Vancouver....so come try us out!
