This hotel is walking distance from the convention center for those attending a conference or taking a cruise but it is less expensive than closer hotels. Although it is an older facility, it is nicely decorated. It has all the amenities such as free Wi-Fi and an excellent breakfast with egg patties, waffles/ pancakes, bagels, and cereal.

As this reviewer states....if you are coming to town for a cruise or an event at the Vancouver Convention Centre we are an amazing option for those of you that DO NOT want to spend $300+/night only to also be charged for Wifi and Breakfast. I assure you that you will find the same level of service (if not better) at our property that you will find at any 5 Star hotel. We are only 5-6 blocks from Canada Place and the Convention Centre and if it is raining we offer umbrellas to our guests! Come try us out....you will not be dissappointed!

Friendly staff, great breakfast--eggs everyday and either waffles or pancakes plus bagels, muffins, toast, cereals, juice and coffee or tea. Friendly staff, very convient to convention center, on bus line, 10 min walk to Canada Place cruise terminal, great value for price, comfortable beds

Room Tip: Elevator can be slow at busy times so a room on 2nd or 3rd floor is convient when using stairs

Thank you for reviewing our property! We are finding more and more corporate guests that are chosing to stay with us over the big 4 and 5 star hotels accross the street from the Convention Centre. Our price point is significantly lower and the added value of free breakfast and wireless internet cannot be matched by other hotels in the city. It is a simple, short 5-6 block walk to both Canada Place Pier (cruise ships) and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Overall we had a great stay here. The location is good and so are the rates. Pluses: location close to Gastown, downtown & cruise dock, friendly & helpful service, breakfast (although we weren't able to take advantage of it)
Minuses: historic building means small rooms, musty smell in elevator & halls (but not in rooms), city noises. Some blocks on way to hotel may feel dicey due to all the barred windows but we felt safe enough to walk back from a Gastown restaurant.
Bottom line - this would be a 3 or 4 * hotel on another street. We would stay again.

I didn't realize that Vancouver is a very expensive city. The hotels are pretty pricey and food is expensive. So to start of with that context, the Ramada Limited served its function. It was a place that provided us with shelter without bedbugs. This hotel offered free Wifi and a not so great free breakfast.

I suggest bringing your own shampoo and soap. They offer some awful San Francisco soap company brand that leaves a residue on your skin. The front desk was helpful and the hotel is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver.

Thank you for reviewing our property. Yes, Vancouver can be considered to be an expensive city, it really all depends on what you are used to. I am surprised that this reviewer was not a fan of the washroom amenities. All Ramada's use the same product in the washrooms (San Francisco Soap Company). It is a refreshing citrus soap that we have recieved quite a bit of positive feedback about.

Thanks for reviewing our property! Our hotel is located right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is a pretty big city and with that comes some social issues including homelessness. That being said, Vancouver is considered to be a very safe city and all of our guests should feel more than comfortable walking around at any time of the day or night. Generally speaking, the worst thing that will happen is that you may be asked to "spare some change"....but this will happen no matter what area of Downtown Vancouver you stay in. Come try us out, I am sure you will love the character of our little 100 year old building and the friendliness of our award winning staff.

We stayed here during June 2012 and found it be vrey convenient for transport and sightseeing, although on first appearances the area is a bit seedy. Staff were very helpful, however our room was dark with no window and pidgeons outside cooing at all hours.

I am happy to say that we have been sucessful in keeping the pigeons away from the windows and therefore our guests are getting peaceful evenings with no "chatter" from the birds! All of our guest rooms do have windows, however, some windows on the lower floors are smoked for privacy. For all future guests, if you have any concerns about your room please let our staff know right away and we will do everything we can to accomodate your requests. We want all of our guests to leave happy and wanting to return!

Stayed June 30-July 6/12 Room is OK you get what you pay for and this is a 3 star property. Beds are comfortable and the room we had 507 had a jaccuzi tub and A/C. However not sure who picked the rock for the flooring in the bathrooms. Somewhat rough....What makes it a 4 star is the staff. Always at the ready to answer questions and give options for dinner. Breakfast supplied is minimal but Rickys is just a couple blocks away.
Convientley located to Chinatown, Gastown and Canada Place. Took in the The Tower (revolving restaurant) similar to Torontos Tower on Canada Day which enabled us to see the fireworks. Great View. Hop on Hop on bus is within 3 blocks and a good deal for 2 days -45$. Got a good rate because we booked well ahead 133.00$ per night. Well worth the value being downtown vancouver. Within walking distance of Stanley park. Staff speak many languages so English is not a barrier.

Room Tip: Room 507 and 512 are very nice.....
