“Location saved to come again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013 via mobile

Came with wife, her mum, and 3 kids. Friendly waitress accommodated us without problem, food was delicious. One of the nicest Indian meals I've tasted.
The tables and the room were a bit basic and functional, which didn't add to the experience, but the food tasted so good it didn't matter to us!

“Disappointing experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

To satisfy a longing for some great Indian food we decided to try Atithi in Vancouver on Burrard St. We were first to arrive for the evening meal and began with an ice cold Kingfisher and a samosa. Both delicious. Other patrons arrived. We waited for the entrees. No food. Other people ordered. Food began to arrive but alas not to our table? Several other tables were served including a takeout order???? After inquiring the server told us it was coming. Too late. When the butter chicken and Muttar Paneer eventually arrived we were quite angry at being so overlooked. A couple of chocolates doesn't cut it to address the situation. The sauces for both dishes tasted the same. I missed the rich gravy available in so many good Indian restaurants. Too bad, we were very disappointed by the whole experience.

“Great food, reasonable prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2013

This is a great little spot. When we went, it was very busy, so a reservation wouldn't hurt. The Indian food is delicous and they try to source local ingredients and prepare the food in a healthier manner than some other Indian restaurants. Very flavourful. We enjoyed it all from the Naan bread to the Butter Chicken to the Mango Pudding. A neat spot to go before (or after) catching a movie at the Fifth Avenue.

“Indian Excellence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2013

Once again our Groupon deal has brought us to another gem.

Reservations a must, very small restaurant People kept arriving and being turned away due to the popularity of this place. Parking in rear as well.

Pleasant attentive staff. We ordered Frankie ( a delicious unique fancy egg roll with chicken), Chicken Chettinad, Aloo Gobi and some rice. Everything has it's own flavor and hint of heat. Not too hot nor mild for our tastes.

I had Chai tea which I had never had before and enjoyed it very much. Prices are average in comparison to other Indian Restaurants.

So worth a visit to enjoy these flavors.....one of the best Indian Restaurants we've been to.

“Unassuming restaurant has great flavours and very affordable lunch buffet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2013

This little gem is located on Burrard street near Broadway (@ 10 blocks outside of downtown.) It's lunch window is from 11am to 3ish, but the food is very tasty, and it is all you can eat. They stock popular dishes: butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a type of lentil, cumin potatoes, a vegetable dish, papadams ... generally about 8 to 10 dishes to select from. (People love the chili fish)
Dine in in 2013 will cost @ $11.50 which includes the tax, or you can get take out which includes a soft drink of your choice for $10.00.
The chef used to work up the road and the pricier Maurya, and has brought his deft touch to his own tiny place. I have yet to go for dinner, but his lunch buffet is spot on, seasoned beautifully... and this place is catching on. Currently, it feeds many of the local businesspeople but I'm sure it won't be long before they have line ups. The service is nothing special, but then again, other than beverages, a buffet is pretty much self service. They also include 2 dessert options: often mango or rice pudding.
