“Cheap and Clean and Central”

No frills - clean and cheap - and a decent location - ask for a higher floor as there is a Irish pub attached to the hotel. The pub is a nice place to have a drink if you have the time..

I booked this hotel because of the price. It was one of the more affordable hotels in Vancouver.

The staff were ok. We arrived and the girl in the lobby was too busy with her own things and didn't bother to greet us. Well, I cant expect too much right. Breakfast was decent. Too much carbo for my liking. I booked the standard room and it was really very very small. The TV had to hang from the wall and our window overlooked the apartments in the next block. At least, the rooms were clean.

Overall, the stay was ok for the location and price. Don't expect too much from the un-enthusiastic stuff and you are ok.

Two day stay. Building looks better than in Google Streets. Road construction in GS long since completed. Eager to please desk staff. Room better than expected. Clean. Steer noise UNAVOIDABLE in the city ! Dumpster divers 20 meters from parking at most hours.
Just hope we don't join them in this economy. Irish Pub downstairs audible, but not much. Saturday night sidewalks stay busy all night. Lots of clubs. Good location for tourists. Quiet arrives at 4 am.
Continental Breakfast good. Room has phone/ iPod charger/speaker set. Chinese fellow at desk in PM is service personified. Excellent. Price for Vancouver is very competitive.
Book it Dano !

stayed 2 nights a friday and saturday and didn't experience any of the noise problems I expected to. For such a great rate and great location i was extremly happy with the room, entire building including rooms was very up to date. All staff were very friendly helpful and knowledgable special consideration to Jesse on the front desk made my weekend much more enjoyable. I have worked in hotel industry for years and am typically very critical of hotels but I found nothing to criticize. I will be back

Check in with Patrick- excellent

lucky to get bright 2 double glazed windowed room, Granville Street very noisy
lucky? - yea, because:
1)windows on Nelson Street not double glazed
2)rooms on 1st floor hear noise and vibrations from pub beneath
3)some rooms on all floors face a narrow air/light shaft, so view is hostel windows
4)very noisy ice machine only on floors 2 & 4 and rooms near them would certainly hear the noise

Housekeeping:
When found bed short sheeted, Ian immediately came with diff sheets and quickly remade bed.
Meeting with Neil Deshmukh, general mgr and head of housekeeping next morning to complain about short sheeted beds (both were) and that my bed was NOT TO BE TOUCHED SINCE IAN REMADE IT. Sure enough, that night when i returned, it had been remade and short sheeted again. Called desk, Samantha who said she would bring me the sheets but would not help me with the bed.
Obviously hotel policy is to short sheet the beds, which i find disgusting, and makes my skin crawl.
same paper on floor for 4 days.

Amenities (or lack thereof)
nice big flat TV
coffee/tea maker
nice breakfast set up in the pub
thin scratchy towels
no frig
no clothes line over tub
short flight of stairs at entrance might be a problem for some with heavy baggage

Neighborhood- noisy street @ night - bars, pubs, clubs, often crowded with (mostly) young drunks, in addition to panhandlers and hookers.

If it had not been the issue of short sheeted beds, which is disgusting, my review would have been much more positive.

I just got back from vancouver and i am not picky about places to stay. Everything was booked and it was one of the few to pick from. Positives: Great breakfast in the pub.
Negatives: VERY SMALL double beds - they are more like singles, very small room. The room stunk of some sort of cleaner, and so did our friends next door. Only good thing is the location, if your wanting to go out and party - or people watch and don't mind very noisy area this is the place to be, just off of granville. Pub downstairs noisy on the weekend could hear it upstairs.
The price after parking included came out to $145.00 for the room, parking lot had a security gaurd which was good as it was not fenced or anything.
would i stay here again? if i was in a pinch and couldn't find anything yes, as it includes breakfast, but definately would look for something else first.
oh and wifi wasn't the greatest and only one computer in lobby to use.

Had a quad room on the 4th floor of this downtown hotel, a short walk from Vancouver's attractions and the trendy Yale area with its many restaurant's. Some of our party found the room noisy and the beds uncomfortable, whilst others found it quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts in the downstairs Doolins bar were plentifull and delicious.
