“Very nice hotel midtown Vancouver”
Reviewed 17 October 2009

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to Vancouver very much because of the great rate, central location and hospitality (evening wine tasting, yummy breakfast in cozy restaurant) of this hotel. Room was small but comfortable.

Took the Romance Package and upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite. Excellent value for money. The room was large and well appointed. Clean, quiet and friendly staff. La Valle restaurant in the hotel is a perfect match for this hotel. Small, good food and good service. Good location for access to Granville Island, Yaletown and Sunset Beach/English Bay. Easy walk to Robson Street.

We booked this Hotel for 3 nights while staying in Downtown Vancouver for my birthday. Location wise: It is located right by the ferry to get to Granville Island which turned out to be very convenient. We would walk 2 blocks down to catcht he ferry, check out the market and brewery on Granville Island, then take the ferry on to Yaletown for dinner, and then walk back to our hotel (15 min). It is also a 5minute walk to the where all of the clubs and lounges are. A little far to walk to Robson and Stanley Park, but a very short cab ride. Overall, not a bad location. Hotel: When we first checked in, we were greeted very warmly by the concierge. They checked us into a tiny tiny room at first, but we called down and checked to see if there was a bigger room available and the woman at the front desk was very sweet and switched us to a larger room (the Orsini, it's called) with no extra charge and no fuss. The hotel has a small hot tub that never got busy, so it was like having your own hot tub and a gym that had everything you need for a quick workout. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who is on a budget.

This hotel is quite new inside - with the bar/restaurant having been recently refurbished, but the hotel rooms felt a little worn, but they were perfectly adequate for a short city break. The hotel is close to the waterfront (a few minutes walk) and they offer a free shuttle into the city centre.
We enjoyed the free wine tastings in the evening, and the waitress was very friendly & helpful with local suggestions of where to go. Negatives however, was that the price was a little steep, and upon check out our agreed price had increased, but we had a train to catch so were in no position to stand around to argue/prove our previously agreed price. The rooms were a little small, and clean enough, but ours looked out onto a busy highway & some noise was heard. Also, internet access was expensive.

Overall, not brilliant, but ok for a short stay, especially if you are lucky to find a bargain rate somewhere.

Room on the level of the busiest highway in Vancouver with poor window sealing. Impossible to sleep without ear plugs. Even with plugs the noise came through.

Booked this the day before on Hotwire and got a good deal. We moved from the Hyatt who could not offer us an additional night at the Hotwire price we had originally booked with.
Girl at reception was friendly, our room was ready early so we could move straight in.

The room was a little small but clean.

The view was not brilliant but this was not an issue for us.
I would stay agian but if going to be for a few nights might pay more for a one bedroom apartment,
Location was fine, easy walk from the centre.

Well located at a 5-min ride/ 6-7 blocks (bus or cab) to Robson Street in Downtown and very close to the Granville market and the waterfront park. A bit old, but an excellent value for your money for a Hotel in Downtown Vancouver.
