We've stayed at the Opus twice now and both experiences have left us more than eager to return. Our last visit marked an anniversary - two years (almost to the day) of our last stay at the Opus. The Opus is in an excellent location in the heart of Yaletown, easily accessed from most major routes and the new Canada Line nearby makes travel around downtown Vancouver even easier. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops, with Robson only a short walk or even shorter ride on the Canada Line away.

As a boutique hotel the Opus does not disappoint and the extra's (champagne on our check-in and fun candies delivered to our room several time throughout our stay) combined with the various perks, such as discounts to nearby Yaletowen stores made the stay even better. The car service, when available, is an added bonus to make a special outing even better. As with most upscale hotels taking advantage of the extra services is where value can be found.

We will be definitely be staying at the Opus again.

I picked this hotel for our first night in Vancouver because is literally right across the street from the Canada Line which connects to the Airport. It is more convenient to take that line from the airport into the city than anything else. Also, this makes Opus the perfect location for going anywhere else in Vancouver.

I also liked this hotel because it is luxurious but young. Our experience certainly lived up to this expectation. They met us at the check-in desk with sparking wine and other non-alcoholic beverages. They took the liberty of vastly upgrading our room. The room was _incredibly_ nice. Opus even gives each room a free latte in the cafe downstairs along with iMacs with free internet service (wireless costs in the rooms). Anyways. these are all the luxurious details. I am just reliving them as I write this. I wish I was back there now. :)

everything was fabulous- from the two young men who took our bags and parked the car to the bartender who suggested several places to eat in the area- the room was great, we upgraded to a slightly bigger room with a bigger bath- tub big enough for two- Ordered a few things from room service and the service was fast and very courteous- I really liked the shelf just inside the door to set a room service tray on- it allowed one to have something delivered and still maintain a sense of privacy. Every time we left and needed advice or directions the staff was great and spot-on with their suggestions. Overall, we will probably be back-

We chose the Opus Hotel because we brought our dog, and the hotel is supposed to be uber dog friendly. We were disappointed upon check-in when we were told that there were no dog beds available. We had just come from the Westin in Whistler wherein there was a Heavenly Dog Bed waiting for us in our room.

The room we were assigned was in their lowest category (to be expected since we booked through jetsetter.com), but I was not expecting how small the room would be. Barely a queen bed fit in the room - everything was just crammed in. The paint in our room was chipped, the furniture was obviously made for the room - just cheap plywood stained a dark brown and chipped by wear and tear. The carpet was obviously worn out.

Valet parking was $30. Although the location was great, there was no place else to park. To be fair, I knew about the valet charge and was expecting it. The staff at the front desk were nice enough to comp the valet parking charge when we brought up how no dog beds were available.

The decor in the lobby, the elevator and the floors is tacky. This place tries too hard to be hip. I'm in my early 30's and consider myself to be pretty hip, but the hotel was too "try hard". Zebra skin chairs, hot pink lighting? I mean - really! Outdated already.

Good things about this place. Location in Yaletown. Our dog was given posh dog treats, and I received a dog magazine. We were given water when we checked in. That's about it.

We love this hotel because it's got everything we need. Great beds and baths, great food, great location in the Yaletown area of Vancouver - and a great staff! We enjoyed having a cocktail in the lobby and meeting other guests!
