First up - this place is NOT Japanese. No, not even a little bit.

The menu has Chinese options and dishes in almost every category. My partner reckons the tea was probably the worst we have had in a 'Japanese' restaurant. The rice was gluggy, the tempura was oily, the salads could have been fresher and so could the seafood! Just in case this doesn't convince you of the lack of authenticity, the chopsticks are Chinese. Grrr!!!

To be fair, the service was quick and reasonably friendly. However - we know how to tip. Please do NOT take tips out of our bill without asking; and taking our receipt away won't stop us from noticing that this has happened. Really!

Cozy little place on Robson street where we had pretty good sushi at a very reasonable price. We mostly had maki to be honest but we weren't disappointed. Service is pretty quick.

Went to lunch with my pal,and we ordered assorted sashimi, prawn tempura, and a few more sushi.. The assorted sashimi had stale hokkigai that was for sure a few days old. The tuna had a "dead, dark color" to it,no fresh gleam you get in fresh fish. Ditto for the salmon. We also ordered uni, which tasted passable, but the color was turning "dark". We complained to our waitress, she relayed to her Vietnamese owner. She returned ,gave us a ridiculous excuse of "our fish comes frozen,so they 're not always fresh". At least she was honest of admitting their " fish are not always fresh". The owner never came out to apologize. I really hope know one will get sick from salmonella, especially seniors and kids with weak digestive systems. We kept the receipt, just in case either one of us get sick.

we stopped in for a quick bite to eat, and were totally unsatisfied by the experience. the combos didn't provide any appealing options, and making any changes required paying extra, which brought the cost up to just ordering each item separately. the seafood salad had hardly any seafood in it - literally 3 pieces of fish. when i asked for a couple more minutes to decide what to order after being told i would be charged extra to change a combo in order to be able to eat something that made sense, the server simply never came back, and i never got to order anything at all. then again, maybe the server would have come back if we had stayed longer. but given the terrible seafood salad, and the fact that the woman next to us launched into uncontrollable sneezing due a sulfite allergy, indicating that the seafood wasn't fresh, we ended up getting out of there as quickly as possible.
