This hotel is part of the Terminal City Club and a slightly odd arrangement. If you want to use the restaurant and other facilities, they have a dress code that has to be adhered to. A rather strange, unexpected and unwelcome arrangement if you are a casual visitor to the place as we were.

On the plus side, you do get membership to the health club and you an use pool, sauna, spa and steam room - all very nice.

The room was well furnished with a flash coffee machine inside. The bathroom was very small. Air conditioning was very noisy.

Friend and I stayed one night for a weekend away. Room on the 12th floor was clean with 2 double beds. Asked for a noon check in and our request was met. Nothing really popped for us with this hotel and the price was high for what we got. I was expecting a little more luxury for the money spent. Will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Dear Smallpup,

Thank you very much for taking time to place a post.

The hotel is very busy in the Summer and as check-in is 3pm, it is a nice bonus if you are able to get into your room early. I am glad we could accommodate.

It is too bad you did not feel the hotel 'wowed' you, as that is what we always strive for.

We do thank you for staying with us.

Kind regards,
Noni

Decent hotel, although not worth the $185 price tag. Not to mention the surprise $36 parking fee upon check-out that was not indicated at any point until then. If I knew about the fee, I would have opted to stay elsewhere. What a con.

Also, whatever you do, don't go wandering east to look for shopping/food, etc. Within 5-10 minutes is a very scary scene with poverty, drug use, prostitutes, etc. I sure wish the hotel had some sort of notice about this in it's literature.

Dear Deecypher,

Thank you for your candid feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were not aware there would be a cost to park your car. This will be reviewed with our Front Desk team, and our parking attendants to try to find out how this could have happened. May it help you to know that our parking fee is competitive with all the hotels, if even, a little less.

As in every large city, there are areas you tend not to walk into, and by the sounds of your comment, you walked a little too far east. Next time you are in Vancouver, I encourage you to please visit the concierge desk, who will would be pleased to assist you with a walking map and would be able to point out attractions, shopping and food experiences to enhance your stay.

Kind regards,
Noni

We stayed Monday through Friday night to explore greater Vancouver for the first time. We enjoyed walking access to most things that tourists like us want to see (e.g., Stanley Park, waterfront, bike rentals, shopping). However, we couldn't shake the feeling that we weren't truly welcome. The lobby had an eerie, empty feel since the front desk was often staffed by one person with no concierge. This is unsurprising since the hotel is a small portion of a residential tower. We underestimated how this would effect the atmosphere of the place; keep that in mind when looking for a room downtown.

Pros: Hotel location. Room service very thorough. Housekeeping staff and doorman friendly. Front desk staff attentive and effective.

Cons: Felt like a guest in someone else's expensive house. Room poorly arranged; one inadequately small dresser for clothes storage, small bathroom, and walls decorated as an afterthought. Indifference from security. Odd interactions/intolerant looks from residents when using building facilities. $38/day parking fees. Automatic %15 gratuity added to breakfast bill (we tipped the waitress more anyway).

Bottom line: For the same money, other true hotels likely have better amenities and greater tolerance for tourists.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite or mountain view; you'll pay dearly for it but it may be worth it.

I have heard how good this place it is. I stayed here before best friend's wedding with her. We probably check in at the mid night that I didn't see a bellboy around to assist us for the luggage. But the room service is impressed, within 5 min of call to the front desk in early 6 am, we got the things we requested for. It's good for traveler because this is really a convenient location in DT Vancouver!

My husband and I stayed at the TCC for one night to attend a wedding. Our suite was clean, quiet and modern, with a partial view of the harbour. The bed was comfortable and the room was dark, giving us a restful sleep. There was a coffee maker in the room. Breakfast is available, but we did not eat here. The hotel is conveniently located, and just a short walk to the Sky Train and Sea Bus. The price is in line with other hotels in the area. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 5 nights, and including Canada Day. Had a king suite on the 10th floor. Large, spacious. Great view. Good location for anything downtown. Room was a bit musty, seemed slightly damp. Carpet looked old. Staff was nice. Had a little check in snafu, but they gave us free breakfast. Everything else was very nice. Sound value overall.
