Description: A nod to both the University of Oxford and British sporting culture, the New Oxford sits proudly on the edge of Yaletown, an ideal addition to Vancouver’s notoriously trendy neighbourhood. The room runs the width of the entire city block, and reveals rustic gray millwork, classic pub-style furniture and black & white photos with a pop art treatment. A 50-foot-long cantilevered bar serves as the room’s centrepiece, and leads visitors into a ‘study’ area, complete with taxidermy, original-print hardcover books, vintage sporting gear and comfortable seating. Open seven days a week, the New Oxford serves original and classic cocktails, craft beer and local, organic pub fare, with a busy brunch weekends and holidays.

“OMG! Don't go! Worst dining experience ever!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013 via mobile

We went to this restaurant on the recommendations of friends prior to going to see Pink in concert. What an enormous disappointment. To begin with the waitress did not have clue about wines. Didn't know the difference between a Cab Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc. We ordered our wine from their small and very I impressive wine list, taking a chance as our waitress was unable to make recommendation. The wine was really awful. Our dinners were mediocre. The strip loin dinner had everything soaked in a mushroom gravy that was far too salty.. Painfully so! During our dinner the waitress checked in twice but did not have the presence of mind to top up our wine. When we asked to speak with the supervisor or manager we were told that the GM was there and would come out. Surprise surprise he had to leave but the manager would speak to us. He gave us lip service at best. Told us he would adjust our bill for the steak but in the end did not. My recommendations ...... Do not go to this restaurant!

“Very good fish and chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013 via mobile

We come here frequently. The first time our experience was a bit strange, when the pitcher of beer we ordered was not full and we received a snarky comment when inquiring. But coming back, fish and chips were very good one night. And we've come for brunch on Sunday a few times, which is very good too. Not very busy at all. They have a patio too, we will try it next time.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2013

We had lunch at this place, which is in a great location in Yaletown. We were not disappointed. Excellent burger with fries as well as tasty spring vegetable salad. Terrific quality and generous servings. Service was good too. Highly recommended for brunch/lunch.

“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2013

I reviewed this before with a thumbs down but we were asked to try it again by the Manager, Adam. He is the key! We really would never had come back as we have so many options in Vancouver but he contacted me and enticed us with a free round and appies. We took the same folks back as we did over a year ago. This time much different! Ok, so it is still a pub with pub food but we enjoyed ourselves, the waitress was great and Adam was a treat to meet live.

Thanks for getting us to come back and we will be back soon!

“Not impressed!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2013

I went to the new oxford with a group from work last week. The food was just ok (tiniest chicken wings I've ever seen), the cocktails were horrible (mostly ice) and our server was only nice after we complained to the manager. Adam the manager was very attentive and came and spoke to us and discounted our bill after we explained. He tried but the restaurant fell short unfortunately.
