“Macaroni heaven”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

If you like macaroni, you will like The Mac Shack, but be sure to come with an appetite. I took my sister there for sister day which usually involves some form of exercise and always a good hearty meal. Well we couldn't just order two macaroni dishes, there were so many choices and ended up ordering 4 different macaroni skillets. The bacon cheeseburger macaroni was our favourite and it is cheesy so be hungry and ready for it. We had a cold beer and it was a fun lunch. Not for the connoisseur of el dente pasta, but great comfort food in a fun, casual setting.

“Better Off Staying @ Home w/Kraft Mac & Cheese!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2012

Disappointment is an understatement: one would certainly think that a restaurant called The Mac Shack that specializes in Mac and Cheese would be somewhat decent?!? The best way to describe the assorted dishes that we received would be "putrid." The food was absolutely disgusting and based on later sickness am quite certain that the lobster in the Mac & Cheese was off?!? Furthermore, it would appear that their gluten and lactose free versions are NOT, as the individual in our party that ordered same was also sick all night despite the staff insisting that her dish was both gluten and lactose free.... Speaking of staff, it would appear that many of them seriously experience their work hours completely high resulting in slow, terrible and uncaring service in not the cleanest of environments.

What a shame as the concept and location certainly have potential if under prudent management accompanied by monitored caring employees. Proper management would likely help out or at least staff that did not admit that ownership is not present and cannot be contacted to discuss complaints. We certainly won't be returning to this establishment as Kraft certainly has a superior product and the upper hand.

“Not like your mama used to make”

Great comfort food. Variety of choices, healthy or comfort. Food is great albeit a bit pricy. I had the large bacon cheeseburger with wronged.$14,00 Not really bad price. Counter service which I have never liked, however all around good

“Nice Twist on an Old Favourite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2012

There is a bit of younger crowd and it can get a bit noisy at times. My wife had the Veggie regular (it's actually their small) and I had the Lobster regular for $15. Unless you have a huge appetite the regular (small) is more than enough to fill you up. I didn't feel the Lobster ($15) was worth more than double the Veggie ($7), but you can also choose and build your own with other ingredients. Beer and Wine is also available. Eat in or take out, good comfort food from an old favourite!

“Sad and disappointed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2012

So disappointed! You would think if you specialize in a particular type of food that it would be consistent and good every time ~ sadly this was not. We had been here five months ago and had ordered the same thing. The four cheese mac and the lobster mac, both were fantastic ~ very creamy, lots of cheese and very flavorful. Yesterday's meal was bland and dry, not sure what happened to all the cheese? The quality of food has down graded, very unfortunately because everyone loves comfort food! For the prices you pay, it's not worth coming here, unless they change their quality back to what it was before.
