“Great bar atmosphere, went back twice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

While strolling down Burrard Street on our holiday my husband looked up and noticed this bar with its open side and sports screens inside. Decided to call in for a drink later that evening.
The fresh air was lovely as the weather was good and the evening quite balmy. We had some drinks, Red Truck lager for Husband and I had a Growers Cider which was super. The décor and lighting is amazing and we felt like we were on a movie set!
Went back on two more occasions as we enjoyed so much. Friendly servers who made time for a little chat with us. The weather turned cooler and wetter! so the windows were shut but was still good there. A guy in our hotel told us that the Bar had a refurb recently so well done to whoever chose the décor, wish we had a place like this at home in the UK!
Didn't eat there but the food others had looked good.

“In dire need of a service upgrade.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013 via mobile

Arrived on a Thursday night to a half busy restaurant. Was greeted promptly and seated immediately upon arrival. Drinks were ordered, which were very tasty. And a good selection of food to go with as well. It started with the appitizers not arriving before the mains, and only acknowledged the fact when brought to her attention, which had to be done several times. All food did arrive but not in the order you would expect and not within a time frame you would like. And then when we asked for the bill we had to wait at least twenty minutes before we decided to get up ourselves and walk to the bar to ask to pay. Had to wait again at the bar for ten minutes. All I wanted to do was leave. In the end the manager did comp our food, which is great and all but the service really needed to be much better. Sadly not a place I would recommend.

“Great beer and excellent view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

The Grain Tasting bar is located in the Hyatt in downtown Vancouver on Robson street. It has a closeable balcony that overlooks the street scene and is fantastic people watching while you sample some local Vancouver beers, feels like your out on the deck.

Staff were extremely polite, bartender spotted me sitting there alone after 5 minutes and rushed over to take a beverage order, apologize, and send a very attractive waitress my way. He was also very well versed on the beers he had and came over later to ask my opinion of the ones I had sampled, very nice fellow. The waitress was also excellent and very attentive and courteous. Definitely will be back! Pizza was good, not great, but I'm not a fan of flat crust. Definitely filled the belly though.
Value was excellent, btw, which was a pleasant surprise for being situated in the Hyatt.

“Great drinks and fabulous service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

The Grain Tasting Bar is a wonderful place to go for a drink or two with appies to unwind after work. The service was excellent – quick and attentive. The kitchen produced absolutely delicious appies like wood fired pizza with spinach and artichokes, hummus with pita bread, cold cuts and cheeses, spicy smokie sausage with french bread, and smoked tomato bruschetta.

The Grain is a perfect place for friends to meet for drinks and light meal!

I had the Duck, Arugula, Goat Cheese Pizza and it was outstanding! We split the hummus and it was delicious! Hubby had a cheese and meat sampler - which he loved! We had a relaxing, lovely meal sitting by the open wall.... it was a beautiful evening in Vancouver and this was a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff was helpful and friendly, the service was fast and yet they never rushed us. Definitely give it a go!
