“Largely undiscovered bakery and breakfast/lunch nook below hostel”
Reviewed 12 September 2013 via mobile

Since undergoing renovation and name change this small resto has upped it's game. The baked goods are delicious, the breakfasts large (though they often bring the wrong toast or meat). Try the hearty beef chile for a great deal. The roll-up windows and stool seating offers great Gastown people-watching (they also have table seating). Largely French staff is friendly and efficient. Americanos are a bit butter for my taste.

“Good, cheap eats in Vancouver”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

We stumbled on this small restaurant walking from Victory Square to Gastown. This part of town is not upscale - the restaurant sits next to a bar and hostel - but it is safe and not very far from the waterfront and convention center. I had a vegetable panini, grilled to perfection with fresh tasting vegetables. My wife had an equally fresh salad with fruit and nuts. The brownie I had was large, warm, and filled with chocolate chips. This is a deli, bakery-type, homey place with about six small tables and counter seating facing the street. A nice place for a light, inexpensive lunch in often expensive Vancouver.

“Everything that you could want in a bakery and cafe”
Reviewed 30 July 2013 via mobile

Located in Gastown, this bakery has it all. From the free iced water with fresh cucumber and lemon, to the biscuits, and croissants, this gem is a can't miss. Great service, awesome menu, and garage door style seating. Love it!
