“There are better beaches in Vancouver than Sunset”
Review of Sunset Beach

This is not the best beach in Vancouver. If you want to stop by on your way along the seawall, then go for it. But don't make this your destination. For really great beaches downtown, head towards Stanley Park (English Bay, Third and Second Beaches, etc.). Kits beach is the most popular (for good reason - bustling, has amenities, great view of the city), just a 15-20 walk (easy) from downtown across the Burrard St bridge. But the best beaches of all (for swimming, sand, relaxation) are Spanish Banks and Wreck Beach (which is clothing-optional) way out by UBC (take transit or drive).

When visiting Vancouver you have to make it down to this end of the sea wall as you walk around Stanely Park. You will see where the False Creek Ferries dock to take you over to Granville Island, as well, the sunsets from here especially during the summer are breath taking.
The grassed in area is great for sun bathing, as well as the sandy beach, or you can take in a game of basket ball or street hockey with total stangers. Roller blading is very popular here as well.
This is a great spot to watch the Fire Works competition during our summer festival.
Enjoy....

It is a great place to walk around , with a great scenery , lots of people and dog watching, summer will have added flavour of people playing music..and the sunset depending on the season is a bonus...also lots of restaurants not too expensive and for diverse tastes.

Sunset beach is by the aquatic centre and the Burrard Street bridge, on the far end of the seawall. It's a nice beach, connected to English Bay, 2nd and 3rd beach. All of the beaches have a slightly different feel to them and attract slightly different people. The most action is on English Bay (a short seawall walk from Sunset beach).
