My husband and I were looking for 1 night's accommodation within walking distance of Hycroft Manor (Mcrae Ave near Granville & 16th) as we had plans to attend a wedding there. I found the Auld Dublin Guest House using TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. Helen Kelly, the propriotoress, was extremely accommodating, friendly, warm and casual and made us feel right at home. Our room (the garden suite) was comfortable, cosy and well appointed. The bathroom was a bit pokey, so if this is a problem for you ask for the other other room at the front of the house which has a much larger bathroom. Breakfast was served at our choice of time (8, 8:30 or 9) and consisted of coffee or tea, orange juice, fruit salad, cereal or scrambled eggs (with freshly picked garden herbs) and toast with preserves. The home is located just off Oak Street near the Shaughnessy area so is very conveniently located for travellers wanting to travel into downtown Vancouver using public or private transit. I would definitely stay at this B&B again.
