Staying just round the corner we had walked past the Takis Taverna for days always seeing queues for a table - at last on a Saturday evening we managed to walk in and be seated and we were not disappointed.my husband had the special of steak and prawns I had Athenian chicken(delicious but too much for me-take away picnic next day)! Next day we returned ate different choices again really enjoyed the food, drinks and service. As it had been our 45th wedding anniversary whilst we were in Canada/Alaska and it was mentioned. Along with our special Takis coffees we're were given ouzous.FInished off the enjoyable evening beautifully

Yes the amounts of food are very generous. The lamb kleftika was beautifully cooked and could have fed three people. My prawns in garlic and lemon were very good. The other two dishes however were most disappointing - a seafood souvlaki featured some very dry, over-cooked salmon, and my partner's moussaka was gluggy and terribly salty. The vegetables were reasonable, but that rice pilaff - it is woeful. Ditch it and concentrate on a genuine Greek salad instead.

We ordered the kalamari to share .. It was the worst I have ever eaten, and I love kalamari. My husband ordered the roasted pork special. It was dry, tasted reheated and several days old. The rice, the carrots and the potatoes tasted like they were cooked a week ago, I ordered the prawns in lemon. They were rubbery. The Greek salad was not bad, but the rice, carrots and potatoes were horrible.

Takis was recommended to us by a fellow traveller and we weren't disappointed. The lamb kleftika was sensational. The service was great and the prices were very reasonable. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to fellow travellers.

Stopped in here following a hearty recommendation from our hotel concierge. We were not disappointed. Everything coming past our table looked delicious but we selected the spanikopita dinner, chicken souvlaki for the kids, and two orders of the special, cornish hen. Spanikopita perfectly cooked and plenty flavourful. The kids loved the souvlaki and it was nice having the option of one skewer or two. Greek salad on the side had a nice house-made dressing but could have used more than a single olive. It was the cornish hen special which won everyone over. Beautifully roasted and stuffed with a moan-inducing mixture of rice, raisins, pine nuts, and chicken liver. The hens were larger than expected and with the generous portions of side dishes (roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, and greek salad), it was impossible to empty the plates, but there was not a speck of stuffing left and the hens were reduced to a skeleton in no time. Prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes and the quality of the meals (the special was only $19). Service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be returning to Takis while in Vancouver and hope it will be here the next time we visit.
