“Great, cozy place for drinks”
Reviewed 19 September 2013 via mobile

My hubby & I were staying at Le Soleil hotel in Vancouver (highly recommended place to stay-impeccable service & rooms!) on Sept. 12-13, 2013 and had finished our window shopping so we were starting to get quite thirsty. Our hotel concierge recommended The Butcher & Bullock down the street.
This pub chain (Donnelly Group) has a great list of local beers on tap and I had a pint of the Steamworks Pilsener & Rob ordered a pint of Ganville Island Lager but we weren't hungry as we had lunch a few hours before. We went back on the 13th for another drink where I had a 18 oz. pint of Carlsberg & my hubby had Granville Island lager again. This time, we were looking at the city guides and both the waitress (#18 & 85 were great) and the chef (who was sitting behind us doing paperwork) were very helpful giving ideas of what to do & see in Vancouver.

The pubs are classically decorated with dark, wood walls & soft lighting with flickering oil lamps. The food menu looked really appetizing and the bartender was helpful explaining some of the local beers on tap.

Great place to go for service, drink & food options! Lisa-Ladysmith, BC

“Okay place”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

Stopped there late in the evening, pretty quiet, good service good food. Prices were average but if you are using American money best bet is to put the bill on your Visa or Master Card, since they did not take the money at par, charged 11% on the exchange

“Really good consistent place, great staff and good specials”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

The main bartenders and other staff are really great at this place. The drink specials are very good, and there's lot's of drafts to choose from. Very decent food as well, even for a pub.
