“A Vancouver Constant”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

While visiting Vancouver, I always make sure I stop by this diner for breakfast at least twice. Sometimes for lunch too! The food is more upscale than traditional diner food and the service is always very personal. Plan on getting here early though, it lines up quickly!

“Don't get the attraction”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

Yes, this is a small diner/dive and this has a hip appeal, but our group of four did not get why this place has been so highly rated. On a Friday morning at 10, we waited 45 minutes for a table. Due to its size we get the ever present lines which make place seem popular (5 booths, and 12 seats at counter). There is not enough staff to make this an efficient restaurant and we waited another 30 minutes to get our food. The menu is small and nothing special - neither so old fashioned nor modern enough. The milkshakes haled as "the best $6 milkshake" is definitely not, so save your money. The food was ok (one order wrong and we could hear cook being reprimanded and order was remade quickly), but it was not cheap and not one item was fantastic. We wanted to love this institution but think it is sustained by unwitting tourists like us. So many better breakfast spots in town, so skip this one!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We sat at the counter and it did not take too long to order. Coffee was good. It took about 2o minutes to get our order. Do not understand only getting 1 1/2 sausages with an order or 1 1/2 slices of toast. Food was just ok. The concerns I had were the food safe practises. The servers did their own buttering of the toast with hands that had touched dirty dishes, handled cleaning clothes etc. Not a good practise.

“Amazing Food - Well Worth the Visit”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

My wife and i ate lunch here and i got the steak with 2 sides for $16 CAD and for what i paid it was excellent, it was all very tasty and excellent value. My wife had the burger which was also extremely nice, definitely with the vista for the food alone no matter what the price was.

The place itself is very retro, it still has the old juke box's at every table but unfortunately they do not work anymore, a real shame as it would have been good to use them. The decor is what you would expect from a diner many years ago so it is a pleasure to be in somewhere like that this day and age.

The service was also faultless with the waitress topping up drinks without even asking and always making sure we were ok. The thing i liked most was when the waitress was taking our order she sat down at the table next to us and started speaking to us and took our order, i thought it was a real nice way of doing it and very friendly so 10 out of 10 on the service front.

Next time we are in Vancouver we will definitely eat here again. I highly recommend The Templeton.

“Great food in a classic American Diner setting”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We had breakfast here as a family and the menu had something for all tastes. the food was well prepared and filling and the staff efficient and responsive. My only criticism is that it doesn't open until 9.00 AM so not a good please for eating if you need to eat early.
