We have been there several times over the past year and most recently 1 March 2014 when the Dine Around Victoria $20 3-course special was being offered. The place was packed and a bit noisy. That has been the case whenever we have been there and the noise is probably the only negative to mention. However, the crowd attests to its popularity and for good reason. The chef is very inventive and his creations will delight most palates. Not only is the presentation carefully constructed but the ingredients are fresh and the quantities are plentiful. My choices were a lobster bisque, duck confit and finished with a chocolate mousse & nougat. My wife had a beet salad, pork tenderloin and poached pear. These descriptions are just the nominal dishes as the accompaniments were astounding and greatly complemented the main ingredients. In this case 2+2=7. The service was deft & pleasant, and everything was brought promptly with absolutely no gaffs. The wine list has good variety and is affordably priced. This heritage tea house offers great ambiance even if it is a bit noisy. But who can complain with this gourmet experience that doesn't empty the wallet! And if you dine after 8pm they have a great deal on tapas.
