“Authentic cottage with extremely friendly and helpful hostess”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We stayed at the cottage pirouette close to Victoria BC. We loved it and especially the hostess who was very flexible and friendly. Our room was a little cramped for three but would be perfect for a couple or two friends. Everything was very clean and all details were thought of. We had a most delicious breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hostess who is also a yoga teacher and singer.

Room Tip: all rooms are authentic and cosy. check whether you need an ensuite bathroom or not to get the right...

I arrived with two teenagers, jet-lagged and disorientated. Lorraine was welcoming, kind and thoughtful. The accommodation was ideal; comfortable, quiet, and within a short walk of a lovely coast. We were given tea and homemade cakes, and we were welcome to use the shared area so i could let the teenagers sleep off the jet lag in their different ways. The breakfasts were varied, always delicious and plenty. We would love to go back, and we recommend it very highly indeed.

Dear SueJaneSamantha;
Thank you for writing in with your experience here, and my apologies for taking so long to respond. No matter the family dynamics or ages, we're honoured to be hosting. As a mother of five that often travelled between Japan and Canada with the kids in tow, I understand jet-lag. We do our best to make people comfortable immediately, because we know that the brain is still in the time zone of the country it left. Some people need a cup of tea upon arrival, some people only want a bed.
We've greeted families from as far away as Belgium, Korea, S. Africa, and Australia, and as close as Nanaimo and Vancouver. We look forward to hosting your family again and seeing how the children have grown.
Trip Advisor viewers can note that room rates are based on double occupancy, and fees for each person thereafter are in effect.

Safe travels always,

Lorraine and the team

It was like saying goodbye to a long standing dear friend when we said our goodbyes at the inner harbour in Victoria. We had spent four nights at this charming B&B located in a quiet suburb of western Victoria. Getting to the city centre was easy by both car, bus and bike - we did all three. For meals outside breakfast there are restaurants on the seafront within walking distance of the Pirouette. We were attracted by the bike friendly statements on the website and the owner gave instructions on how to access the Galloping Goose Trail within 10 ten minutes cycling distance.The customer service was excellent and the rooms lived up to their enchanting names. The welcome was warm and accompanied by a cup of tea and freshly baked muffins.The breakfast were varied and more than ample. We like Japanese food and, on giving notice, on our last day the owner prepared a Japanese style breakfast for her guests. We also had the pleasure of meeting other guests form around the world. We thought our stay was very good value for money and the customer care second to none.

Dear Tony R;
Thank you for writing in, but more importantly, thank you for staying with us for 4 nights, and experiencing so many great things while you were here. It's wonderful when travellers are flexible and adventurous, and you made good use of your time. You'll be happy to know that we purchased a new duvet and covers for the Sakura room....really transforming the space. Please come again and be pampered with a feather duvet! Until then, thanks again for your time in writing, and the great energy that you brought to Cottage Pirouette.

Sincerely,
Lorraine

Three couples, blindly Internet-searching for a Victoria B&B, we stumbled upon the nicely-designed web-site of the enchantingly-named Pirouette Cottage and its floral-named rooms. Sold, we were, and arrived several months later (early July 2014) at Pirouette, in a quiet neighborhood only a 10-minute drive from downtown. The interior was spotless, tastefully appointed, and invitingly comfortable. Breakfast was bountiful, varied, healthy, fresh, and utterly delicious, especially the homemade breads and muffins. The highlight, though, was the owner, Lorraine, hard-working, personable, cheery, helpful, available, trim and fit, a biker and musician, with stories to tell and the heart to listen to those of her guests. She was a superb innkeeper, and our 2-day stay bore the grace of a perfectly executed pirouette. (Saint Louis, Missouri)

Dear Ken C.,
Thank you for writing in with your experience here. We love hosting groups of friends or family who travel together and know how to have fun. Thank you for the energy you brought, sharing great conversation and laughter with other visitors. I have sung for a few guests in recent years, but playing the guitar was a first; you were all such a great audience! Hope we can host you again soon!

Dear June T;
Good morning, and thank you for sharing your experience in Victoria.
You made good use of your time, and found interesting and enriching activities for your 7 night stay. I hope that others will peruse the comprehensive "Activities" pages on our website, for everything from swimming to music festivals to wine tasting.
I'm glad that you found our location convenient; we've always liked the easy access to points north and west, while having the downtown so close.
When such nice people stay with us for a week, it's hard to say good-bye, so we hope that you'll come back soon. In the meantime, thanks again for writing, and I hope this finds you enjoying the final weeks of summer.

We had a wonderfull stay here! Very nice and clean bedroom. Lorraine - the friendly hostess - gave us a warm welcoming to her cosy home with fresh-made banana cake, delicious cookies and hot tea! We loved the marvellous breakfast: pancakes with maple syrup, blueberries, scrambled eggs, sausages and coffee. The house cats (sharply named Toast and Jam) complete the family feeling! In sum, a great getaway that feels like home!!!

Dear Sbaeckens;
Thank you so much for writing in with your experience. We're glad that you enjoyed the home baking, your room, and time with Toast and Jam. The cats are shy when many guests are staying, but given time, they may come into the living room for purring interaction.

We look forward to hosting you again soon!

Thank you TW for taking the time to write to Trip Advisor. We're happy when you're happy. I'm glad that the family was able to store their bikes safely here, and that you took advantage of the guest-use kitchenette to make some sandwiches for the next trek in your holidays. For TA followers that come to stay: if the wifi connection is not great while you're here, just mention it, and we will make it all better Hope we can host you again in the near future!
