“Good historic neighborhood”
Reviewed 17 July 2012

We took the historic tour offered by the local history society of Victoria. The area has little shops, restaurants and lots of character including murals and artwork. Our big discovery was the honey buns at the local bakery which is a Chinese pastry with a coconut filling.

I have been to San Francisco and Los Angeles Chinatown, which are much better in quality of food, shops, and entertainment. It wasn't much to do.

“Okay.”
Reviewed 4 July 2012

I live in Vancouver, where Chinatown is much bigger and more authentic. No problem with Victoria's, just used to larger one.

“Go for the Dim Sum!”
Reviewed 1 July 2012

Chinatown is fun to explore. There are at least two back alleys you really should see. There is a Dim Sum restaurant up some stairs in the middle that is wonderful, and another restaurant on the corner near the gates. Sorry, I never remember the names, but they are easy to find.

“dirty and lacked interest”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

Not much to see. Streets and shop fronts were dirty, we didn't venture further. Don't waste your time.
