Although China Town in Victoria is not large is it a very interesting place to visit. The food is fantastic and the people friendly.

The entrace gate to Chinatown is impressive but thats about it. Not much to it and it is right on the edge of the "less desirable side" of town so stay alert. I've probably been in Chinese restaurants that are nearly as big as this area. If you have ever watched the movie Bird on a Wire with Goldie Hawn and Mel Gibson you would have seen them ride a motorcycle down one of the alley here.... That is it really. Just remember the 5 mins it takes to look around it all you will never get back again...!

Just a quick 7 blocks from the harbor, chinatown issmaller than most other chinatowns I've visited (NYC, Toronto, Boston, Hong Kong), the aroma , the fresh fruit stands, roasted pig in the window is all still the same. The dim sum was great and don't forget to take a quick stroll down Fan Tan Alley!

Chinatown may be small in comparison to other major cities but there is so much to offer in the way of dining, shopping and unique groceries. A walk through the Fan Tan Alley is a must to do. Lunch at any of the Chinese restaurants where Dim Sum is served is also a must. We find ChinaTown easy to walk through and never leave without buying something unique from one of the many shops.

It may be rated the 2nd largest, but by far is the BEST! So much culture to see, and experience the true Chinese people in their own environment. So much cultural history. What an exciting place to see!
