Spent two nights at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort - the place was amazing. Location was great - overlooking the harbor. Great remodeled rooms, pretty spacious. We had a pack'n'play for the LO and still no problems in moving around. Very kid-friendly: Giftbag upon arrival and kids check-in desk. Cute.

Restaurant on site: So-so. Food was good, but relatively overpriced. Service was seriously lacking - we waited for the longest time for service at breakfast.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you so much for posting your comments regarding your stay at Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort , we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay.

I was concerned regarding the service at breakfast as this is certainly not the type of experience we strive to provide our guests in Lure Restaurant. I do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and make up for your experience.

Warm Regards
Randy B.

Attended a conference at the Delta. They're undergoing renovations but did a good job of keeping things going whilst doing them. Staff was all friendly, rooms decent, good pretty good, place is clean, public bathrooms clean, restaurant clean, parking was great. TV decent, chairs in room comfy and beds pretty nice. Bathroom was fairly good too. No reason not to stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel seven years ago and it was depressing with its red velvet curtains and dreary rooms. HOWEVER, the changes are amazing. Our room is beautiful and has the same spectacular view of the Victoria Harbour. The swimming pool is sparkling clean, and even though the hotel is in the midst of a huge expensive renovation, we have had very good meals in a temporary diningroom. Once this multi million dollar renovation is completed in the next few months, we will definitely make this hotel our chosen location in Victoria.

I've stayed in "fancier" hotels, super expensive hotels, flash resorts, motels, hotels and so on but I have never stayed in a hotel that has left me with such a positive impression.

We arrived in Victoria in the evening and not having any place pre-booked we settled on the Delta mainly because of its location across the harbour from downtown and the fact I knew they were offering discounted rates from a Delta advertising email I receive from a previous stay in a Delta in Calgary (not a regular Delta guest).

The hotel was undergoing renovations so the main entrance was closed and the reception staff were working from a temporary desk by the elevators. In many past stays this has been disasterous but the staff were magnificent - we were offered excellent rates (it was the quiet off season for them) and escorted to 2 excellent adjoining (interconennected) rooms.

The rooms were excellent - very comfortable beds, spacious and very very well equipped. The wi-fi and the special "connections" area at the desk are a tech-nerds dream. Wi-fi was very fast and free!

The Hotel offers a free shuttle to take guests to the downtown area which was prompt, courteous and excellent. Our return was sufficiently late that the shuttle driver had gone home for the night so the hotel paid the cab fare back from down town for us.

Being a 2 night stay we enjoyed breakfast twice in their temporary dining room (the main one was under renovation and promises an excellent view of the inner harbor). Again the service, willingness of staff to accommodate special requests and the quality of the breakfast was excellent. We also visited the bar they had set up on level 3 (again due to the renovations) and found the same kind of experience we had for the breakfast.

Our only regret is that we are unlikely to be back any time soon to enjoy this hotel and it's excellent staff.

I been more complimentary in this review in any one I have ever written but in this case it was completely justified. I do not have any affiliation with Delta and have only stayed in one other of their hotels in the last 3 years.

Passing through on business I stayed at the Delta Victoria.

It's a nicely located property with some ocean views if you are on the right side of the building.

There were a bit of renos going on in the lobby area however they did not cause any sort of distraction or discomfort.

The rooms are spacious and well apointed. I was placed on the 7th floor (of 8) and had a city view. The king size bed was exceptionally comfortable with equally comfortable pillows. The room had the modern accompaniments of a small couch and chair with a side desk. Additionally a larger desk with the cables to connect your laptop to the tv monitor were present.

Small mini bar with some extra room for whatever you may choose to put into the fridge to keep cool as well as a cork screw were handy.

The bathroom was very spacious and clean.

My only complaint would be that like most hotels, the Delta subscribes to very high prices for such things as room service and in room munchies. Our party considered breakfast but the hotel essentially priced it out of reach with $17 + $4 delivery to your room + gratuity for the cheapest item on the room service breakfast menu. The high price trend was the same for every other item available in the room with the exception of beer at a decent and affordable $5.

I do have to add that wifi in this hotel is complimentary and for that reason as well as the over all appearance and comfort of the room, I will likely stay here again. Wifi is such a simple thing that I tend to dodge hotels that nickel and dime their patrons with ridiculous pricing.

Overall, the hotel itself, the staff and comfortable rooms made for an enjoyable stay and I'd definitely recommend it.
