“Quality Hotel on the Harbour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

This is a very good modern hotel right on the harbour almost next to the legislative building. It is an easy walk to the harbour, and "downtown", and all the hop-on/off buses.
Our Pacific Room had a very comfortable King bed, two seats, desk & chair and a small balcony with direct harbour views. The bathroom is a decent size with combined bath/shower. There is also a very handy extra basin and mirror right outside the bathroom.
There are several dining options in the hotel. We tend not to eat full buffet breakfasts but found the Courtyard Cafe a good alternative for a lighter option. We also ate at the Mark one night (the fine dining option) which was excellent - the food, the wines and the staff - and I thought good value for the money given the quality.
The lounge has live music on Fri/Sat nights and was very pleasant for an after-dinner drink.
There are plenty of restaurants within an easy walk and the desk staff were able to provide good recommendations based on our preferences.
The hotel is across the road from the ferry terminal for Washington State and about a 10/15 min walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The bus terminal is about a ten minute walk - just behind the Empress Hotel. You could walk with wheelie-bags but taxi fare is only $7/8.
The Robert Bateman art centre is just across the road and is well worth a visit.
This is a quality hotel, well located and with good staff. Recommended.

Room Tip: The high floor rooms have better views.

Great location on the Victoria harbor. Walking distance to many nice restaurants and attractions. Nice pool, hot tub and sauna. Next door to provincial capital building and close to BC Museum. Recommended.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel in late October for 2 nights. Though our standard room did not face the water we loved the sunset and partial view of the legislature building from our west-facing room and balcony. Excellent beds, bathroom, amenities, and the 2nd sink outside the bathroom was very useful. Though we didn't eat at any of the hotel's restaurants the catering provided to our late afternoon function was delicious. The glass elevator with view to the harbour is a treat, and all the staff we encountered were exceptional. It's a perfect location for strolling around the harbour. Would love to stay here again!

Room Tip: The west-facing rooms are a great alternative to the north-facing rooms with a harbour view.

I am a repeat guest of this hotel and was prompted to write yet another review since it would seem that a previous review by DanielC must have been about another hotel by mistake? The rooms are clean and the beds are super comfy, the views overlooking the harbour are at least as good as from the Empress hotel and to top it all off the staff are courteous and efficient; and of course, WiFi works like a charm in your room.
The only disappointing experience during my last visit was the food served to my daughter and I at breakfast, it was not as ordered and quite cold. The waitress picked up on this though and took it upon herself to put it right before we made mention of it, this was followed by her manager coming by our table and apologising! -- the team at this hotel really care!!

The hotel is quiet and the staff are efficient, friendly and well trained. Parking is complimentary and underground - easy to reach. I was able to take advantage of one of their special rates in the low season so it was a very good value.

Room Tip: view over Victoria's inner harbour

My son. & I recently stayed @ the Grand Pacific- it was not my 1st time nor will it be my last. The staff are ever so accommodating, the windows in the elevator with views to the Harbor is great. The beds are thee most comfy I have slept on. Pool is great- nice & warm but fresh, steam room & sauna & a hot tub- they have it all. They even had fitness classes one can join in on.Central location is superb & just the best place to be for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Do get a room with a harbor room- so when the ferry comes in in the morning it looks pretty spectacu...

Overall hotel was exactly what we were looking for. We booked kayak and received a free upgrade from a standard room to a suite. The room was very spacious and clean but could use updating. Concierge was extremely helpful on finding a last minute whale-watching trip a pregnant woman could go on. Pool and amenities were very nice. Location was fantastic with great views of the harbor.
