We really enjoyed our stay there. It is in a convenient location and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were home cooked and excellent. Abigails is a much nicer place to stay than an ordinary 4 or 5 star hotel. The rooms have genuine character as does the entire hotel. We very strongly recommend it.

We stayed in Abigails for just one night after a transatlantic flight to Vancouver and follow on float plane to Victoria. It was the perfect place to recover from such a journey. We had a fantastic welcome, arrived in perfect time for canapes, the hotel recommended and booked and restaurant for dinner, we had a great soak in the clawfoot bath and ended with a great sleep. The room was very quiet (even with the windows open!). The next morning we enjoyed an excellent breakfast and later relaxed in the library with a complimentary coffee before leaving for Vancouver by ferry. I have no hesitation in recommending Abigails as probably the best place to stay in Victoria (only probably as I didn't stay anywhere else!).

ABIGAIL'S is - without exception, the best and most exquisite B & B in Victoria! It's located in a quiet park-like residential neighbourhood within walking distance from historic downtown. As such, there was no need to use my car or hunt for parking when visiting local attractions because almost everything worth doing or seeing was just a short stroll from the hotel. Of course once I checked in and was welcomed by the staff and had a tour of the facilities, I didn't even want to leave the hotel!

I stayed in a 'Fireplace Room' which was large, comfortable and beautifully appointed. The room overlooked the lovely spring gardens. The details made all the difference. The unique little extras, like homebaked cookies, gourmet coffee/tea, hors d'oeuvres served in the library, spa facilities, the excellent selection of books (or movies) and the artwork created a comfortable, luxurious and serene environment. The only reason I got out of bed after a restful night's sleep was because I didn't want to miss the resident chef's famous breakfast choices. The food was incredible.

I highly recommend Abigail's Hotel!

I have stayed in several of the worlds top hotels and including Huka Lodge in Lake Taupo NZ and for its elegance and service Abigail's is on par. The rooms are an exquisite mix of classic luxury with the latest in modern amenities. To this day I have never slept in a bed a comfortable as their beds, including my own. Just a stones-throw from the inner harbor, in the heart of Victoria Abigail's is the best luxury value play in the city, bar-none. Whether you are looking at a luxury B&B or a Luxury hotel you will be very happy with a stay at Abigail's

We stayed at Abigail's for three nights while visiting Vancouver Island. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We felt very much at home.

The room was well appointed and extremely comfortable.

The pre-dinner snacks and coffee in the Library was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Definitely a place that caters to its clients.

Positives: exceptionally quiet, with none of the typical noise of a hotel; accomodating staff; very nice breakfast (though any private conversation was not possible); some nice amenities (especially the loaner robe and the bedding); the room was warm, a plus in the Northwest.

Negatives: room was underwhelming, and not what we thought we were booking according to website pics, small and somewhat worn-seeming (not in a charming antique way); relatively uncomfortable chairs were the only seating, not fun when we wanted to sit before the fire, for our romantic evening; bathtub configuration (placement of faucets, awkward steps) made a soak impossible, though I tried mightily--big disappointment; I think we were supposed to be wowed by the marble bath, but again, config made it less than amenable.

I would recommend this place but with the above mentioned caveats--if a truly luxurious or pampered feeling is what you're looking for, then my feeling is this will fall short--and no matter your standards, this doesn't live up to the 300+ price tag

Thank you for your comments and feedback. When a guest is disappointed in their stay, it is always of great concern to us. We have a variety of different room types with different bathroom and bedroom configurations to please all tastes, such as clawfoot soaker tubs, jetted tubs, and leather sofas in front the fireplace, We do hope you will stay with us again, please contact us directly and we would be happy to discuss the best room option and price for you. Thank you again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back to Abigail’s Hotel in the future.

Lovely, picturesque B&B just a few blocks from the harbour. Breakfasts were 3 course and delicious. Rooms were quaint and homey. Because it is an older building, we could hear the couple in the room beside us a little too clearly. The staff seemed to really want all their guests to enjoy their stay as much as they clearly enjoyed working there. A very friendly place!
