Nice stroll of shops, eateries, pubs, and The Bay Centre (formerly The Eaton Centre).
All the architecture blends in to each other and makes this a fairly scenic walk.

Government street is located in the most historical part of downtown Victoria. the significant bldgs and landmarks were well marked and highlighted. It is where everyone off the crusise ships come to shop. there is a wide variety of merchants, coffee shops, restaurants and things to do. Great place to buy your souveniers.

Government Street is a nice area of downtown close to the waterfront and docks. It is definitely the most touristy place during the summer and many of the shops along the Bastion Sq. area are mainly aimed at the tourist crowd.
There are also a lot of interesting boutiques and coffee shops that are worth checking out.
Overall Government St. has a lot of older restored buildings and brick streets and is a must see/ walk for visitors of the area.
Also, if you continue along Government you will hit China town which has some cool shops, alleys, and restaurants.

Very interesting to view all the architecture of the government buildings. There were a few little parks, restaurants, pubs and gift shops along the route. Gorgeous flowers and plants. Long walk but well worth the visit.
