Fantastic suite. Lots of room, big bed and beAutiful white sheets. Good location. Staff were brilliant and always happy to help out. The shuttle service was free and always available. Would stay there again.

When all the other rooms at my regular hotels were booked, I took a chance on the Chateau Victoria....I lucked out! I haven't stayed anywhere else in the city since.

The staff are incredible, always helping! The lobby bar has the best bartenders in the city. The restaurant on the top floor offers some of the best views in the city. The rooms are huge, all suites I believe. The location couldn't be better. Right downtown near bars, restaurants, the government buildings, the waterfront, museums, etc all just outside the doors. Best location in the city!

Many Thanks for the great review Mike. I could cut and paste that right on the front page of our website, it is so perfect. I did post it in the staff room for all to see. We are glad you like to call us your first choice when visiting Victoria and we look forward to your return.
Regards,
Mark

It wasn't just the great location and spacious rooms that set this property apart, it was the incredibly courteous and helpful staff! They positioned themselves as long time acquaintances instead of simply employees of the property. Very pleasant stay and no question that I will be back!

You can always tell how well the management of a hotel is by the staff working at the hotel. From the moment I entered the property, the front desk staff were excellent. Friendly and very efficient, I advised the staff that I first stayed at this property in 1975 and stayed here quite consistently until 1984 when we hired a local person to look after the market for us. Here it is 39 years later and the hotel is even better than it was when first opened. The rooms are exceptional and I stayed in one of their one bedroom suites which is completely renovated and now air conditioned, which is a bonus for the summer months. Their rooftop restaurant still has the best views of Victoria's waterfront area and the Juan de Fuca Straight. A good exercise area has been added and it was fun watching the kids playing in the swimming pool when I took a tour of the property to see the changes. The downstairs lounge is still one of the nicest I've seen in Victoria and overall, it was a sincere pleasure coming back to a place that we called home back in the 70's and early 80's. I must confess that today, the property is even better than the earlier years and I commend the management for the way they have not only maintained the property but also improved it with their various renovations and staff training. We were not only impressed with the front desk staff when checking in, but also with the staff at their rooftop restaurant and their room service person. The Chateau Victoria is a great place to stay in an amazing city.

Room Tip: Do book one of their one bedroom suites. Very comfortable with lots of room.

We just got back from an overnight in Victoria. We booked the trip through the Victoria Clipper. The ferry from Seattle is 3 hours and is very comfortable. The hotel is a short distance from the ferry and convenient to all the downtown goings-on. Our room was a beautiful spacious king room with a separate living room and kitchenette. It had a beautiful view and private balcony. It was very quiet. The service there was friendly and wonderful. There was live jazz in the restaurant/bar on the 18th floor-- also with a killer view. We had fantastic food on the trip-- try the Cactus Club and 10 Acre for lunch and dinner. It was a wonderful trip!

We spent two nights in a double penthouse room at this hotel, which is walking distance from Victoria harbor and a very short drive from the ferry terminal.

The room had what was essentially a full kitchen, including a two place electric stove, microwave, sink, cutlery, pots, and pans. The room had 2 and a half baths, with the second 'master' bedroom having an attached toilet and sink. This was nice and helped reduce bathroom traffic jams. Both bedrooms and the sitting area had independent AC/heating.

The balcony view was the best part of this room. It was on the 17th floor and was simply fantastic- you could see the whole Port Angeles skyline and bay area; got some amazing panoramic shots from outside. Birds came to roost up on the railing and were fun to watch.
Parking and other amenities were good. There's a 3 level interior garage with small spaces, but it's good there's anything at all for Victoria. There's an indoor pool and spa that were quite nice. The floors have only a few rooms each, so the three elevators offer quick service even if they're all occupied (which they were at the time of our stay).

The location was excellent- a short walk from the wharf and with a lot of restaurants and shops right outside. This is definitely one of the least expensive and nicest hotels in that part of town.
Overall, I'd say our stay at the Chateau Victoria was one of the highlights of our weeklong trip. We'll definitely look it up again if we head back up this way.

Room Tip: The higher the better!

Location was excellent- within walking distance to many great restaurants and bars, as well as the harbour.

The room was nice, slightly on the smaller side but nicely decorated. It was really clean, with the exception of tiny blood stains on the sheets. Housekeeping changed the sheets immediately after we called the front desk.

Free parking and free wifi was great. My only complaint was the elevators- they were slow, small and always crowded.

All in all, a great stay!
