“Excellent customer service and location”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We stayed two nights that we had booked on a special promotion through the hotel central booking Black Friday special. We arrived early and were given an upgraded room to accomodate an early check in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the hotel very well located to see downtown Victoria attractions as well as beautiful walks along Dallas rd. We used the on demand complimentary shuttle several times and received excellent service. On our final day we were given a late checkout which was helpful as well. Thanks for the excellent service!!

Dear Family M,

Thank you for selecting the Coast Victoria Harbourside for your recent visit to the Island, and for taking the time to share your experience on TripAdvisor. As a smaller property, we are happy to take the time to accommodate our guest requests to the best of our ability. Although an early check-in or late check-out may not always be possible on a busy day, we will certainly do our best to accommodate these and other special requests provided they do not impact the stay of another guest.

We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Victoria.

Regards,

Second time at this hotel (courtesy of our son and daughter-in-law), with the most recent stay Dec.24-26, 2013. Our room overlooking the Inner Harbour fantastic (#1010). Spa like bathroom with jetted tub, towelling robes, body wash, shampoo etc. etc. When we arrived back in our room on Christmas Eve night, found a goody bag containing individually wrapped chocolates, a couple of mandarin oranges, bottled water and a miniature bottle of Baileys, classy!!

Food in dining room excellent rating. Try their special Clam Chowder. Breakfast tastefully prepared.

Staff cheerful and friendly and not afraid to smile.

Nice walking distance into the downtown area, helps to walk off the hearty breakfast.

Try it, you'll like it.

Dear Iwanttoknow,

What a great Christmas gift from your son and daughter-in-law! Very fortunate to have found availability in one of only three Premium Harbour View rooms. These rooms, on the top floor of the property and overlooking the harbour, all have a number of special touches including larger balconies and impressive views. They are so popular, that they are already booked up for the rest of January.

Happy to hear that you enjoyed the Blue Crab, the service you received and Santa's gift delivered on Christmas eve.

We look forward to being of service on your next visit to Victoria.

This is a stellar hotel in a city full of Stellar Hotels. I have stayed here a few times and they NEVER fail to wow! We arrived around 10pm Thursday and the young woman at Check in whose name I wish I could recall was excellent, truly an asset to this property. Emilio the Concierge had a plethora of suggestions for restaurants and was even able to shuttle us over. Emilio and also the young female concierge who was on Friday morning were both very helpful with local suggestions.

I would stay here again in a Heart Beat

My only concern was that there in house restaurant "The Blue Crab" does not have a full menu listed in the in room brochure. I had been trying to select a nice place to go but could not see anything that interested me in the TV menu listing so dined elsewhere only to find out the TV menu is a limited selection of options available

Dear CadAlec,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Coast Victoria Harbourside. Victoria is fortunate to have a number of excellent and reasonably priced hotels, however many guests such as yourself find one of the main differences at the Coast to be our front line staff. Since our property is smaller than many of our peers, we can always find the time to provide a more personalized experience to our guests.

I was sorry to hear that the menu system was not functioning the way it should. I will ensure this is corrected, as we do endeavour to showcase our entire offering in this fashion. Our menus change frequently; throughout the year we tend to have at least six different menus such as Crab Fest, Harvest, daily chalkboard creations ... Imagine all the paper that would be used if we updated the guidebook each time the menu changed! For those who do prefer a paper copy, we always have some on hand that we can deliver to your room.

I noticed you are local to Victoria. Be sure to ask about our Island Resident Rate on your next stay - we've just recently launched this initiative and all that you need in order to qualify is a driver's license or identification card with an address anywhere on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands.

We look forward to your next visit.

I travel on business and this is my "go to" hotel. I am a Coast rewards member and I am always treated well! Staff is very friendly and helpful every visit. My request for a particular room is always met. This is type of hotel I love there is a sense of loyalty here based on my stay over the the last 12 years. Rooms are quiet and the beds provide an excellent nights sleep! I will continue to stay here as well as other Coast properties they really make an effort to make my stay as enjoyable as possible, keep up the great work!

Dear Excelden,

Thank you very much for taking the time to once again share your experience at the Coast Victoria Harbourside. One of the many benefits that a number of our repeat guests love is the ability to collect Coast Rewards, Aeroplan, Alaska Airlines or More Rewards points and receive recognition of their loyalty throughout Coast Hotels. In fact, we are so excited about our Coast Rewards program that we are currently offering 3 times the points on all stays through March 31st! Look for a special opportunity to redeem your points in April for a very special package which will include accommodation, an upgrade, parking and choice of an activity such as dinner at the Blue Crab, a round of golf, or a carriage ride. Our Front Desk team makes a point to record the preferences of our Coast Rewards members in order to provide the best possible level of service on each visit.

We look forward to seeing you again soon!

The check in and check out worked very well. The room was as advertised and was clean and tidy. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We used the pool twice during our stay. The pool extends outside which is a nice touch. The quality of the towels, bathroom accessories, etc. were all first class. The location is right on the inner harbour and one can easliy walk downtown and to many of the stores including a major grocery store. The one area that was a surprise for me was that you pay an extra $15 for parking. I missed this item when I reserved online so when comparing rates of hotels in Victoria this has to be taken into account as there are many hotels in the area that do not charge for parking.

Dear Dennis07,

Thank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to share your experience with other TripAdvisor members. Pleased to hear that you made good use of Victoria's only indoor/outdoor pool and were well looked after by our team members.

Although we do charge for our underground parking, we conduct a frequent analysis of other downtown hotels to ensure we are providing the best possible value to our guests. In fact, most similar properties downtown Victoria charge anywhere from $16 to $30 per night for parking. In addition, our complimentary shuttle service is available to take you anywhere downtown Victoria during your stay so that you don't end up paying for parking again if your destination is outside of walking distance.

Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us, and we look forward to having the opportunity to be of service in the future.

I recently stayed at this hotel with our German Shepherd. The location was excellent due to the number of restaurants within walking distance, but being out of the downtown area enough that I felt comfortable walking my dog. Upon stepping out the front door of the hotel, I found myself with immediate access to the sea wall walk that would take me into the city, or a walk that would take me towards Beacon Hill Park and the many off-leash parks that are located there, starting with the Mile "0" Park. It was a wonderful time for both myself and my dog and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Victoria with their pet and stay in a hotel that is both comfortable and reasonable with good amenities.

Dear Catherine,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at the Coast Victoria Harbourside. I was happy to hear that both you and your German Shepherd enjoyed your stay. I'm sure other guests travelling with Fido will appreciate your walk discoveries.

We are always happy to welcome pets to the Coast. In fact, pets can stay in nearly all of our room types. Although we do have a few floors set aside for guests that suffer from allergies, bringing a pet along doesn't have to limit your choice of room!

We look forward to having the opportunity to be of service in the future.

My husband and two teenage daughters joined me while I attended two days of professional training at the hotel. We spent three very comfortable and pleasant nights in this hotel that is in a beautiful location, right on the harbour in Victoria, close to all the sites and downtown. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful. All the staff is wonderful (front desk, concierge, conference attendants, housekeeping - everyone!). Our two rooms were clean and had comfortable king size beds, but could use a "facelift". The food at the Blue Crab (and in room) was excellent, and the lounge is quite pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Dear Angiola,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience at the Coast Victoria Harbourside. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed your interactions with our entire team, and that you found your rooms to be clean and comfortable.
Although our last room restoration was completed in 2006, you'll be pleased to note that we have begun a multi-year room refurbishment process earlier this fall. Beginning with our Harbour View rooms, our maintenance team is working hard to restore our furnishings, bathrooms and the overall appearance of each room. I have seen the finished product and it is fantastic! By early next year, we expect all Harbour View and Premium rooms to be fully renovated.
We look forward to having the pleasure of being of service on your next visit.
