Soooo, lovely, the room was really well cared for, the staff super lovely and the facilities top drawer, I wasn't able to experience the food as I had to go really early but would certainly come back again to try it.

This hotel was such a pleasant experience for all categories. The hotel has been renovated and is posh as can be. The room was lovely and quiet. The staff were extremely pleasant, the food was wonderful. You won't get bacon like that at home! They buy it from a local producer, I asked. Our suite was overlooking the tower clock at city hall. We got to listen to it's beautiful ring during the day/early evening. Location is so convenient. You can walk to anywhere and we did. Extra discounts at the cafe and liquor outlet were nice. Not expensive to begin with either. We felt this hotel was the best value and look forward to visiting again. Fenced parking was handy, but you might want to book that at the same time as your room. Go "green" for even more discounts, we did and it was easy.

Room Tip: Our room was on Pandora side.

Pros:
1) The location is awesome...everywhere interesting downtown or Chinatown is a short stroll. Even though we brought our car on this trip, we never once had to use it.
2) If you are squeamish about cleanliness, then this hotel is definitely for you. All rooms were completely renovated (not a facelift...but actually gutted down to bare concrete) in June 2012. So, it's super clean, ultra modern, brightly lit, heated bathroom floors...very nice! Beds were super comfortable.
3) Very nice restaurant & bar downstairs, busy every night, great menu!
4) Complimentary baked good & drink of your choice every morning for breakfast (or subtract $3 for a hot meal).
5) I can't say enough positive things about all the staff at the front desk. Always super friendly, helpful, cheerful, and ready to assist even when you don't ask.

Cons:
1) The Superior Queen room is pretty small in size.
2) No in-room safe, but you can always bring your valuables down to the front desk to have them lock it up for you. Front desk personnel are always on top of every single person that walks into the lobby, so I think they are really good at keeping tabs on who actually is a hotel guest.

Room Tip: Book through the actual hotel website, not through Expedia. My experience with other hotels has been...

Friendly helpful staff - tip, they love kids, or at least our small boy. Clean modern rooms - tip, upgrade to the kingsize room. Excellent quality breakfast - tip, try the short rib hash. A lot of street noise (mostly on weekends I'm told) though so if you are a light sleeper ...

This hotel continues to surprise me with great rooms, great service & a world class bar. The hotel staff always remember your name & greet you with a wonderful smile. I recommend this hotel to all my friends. The location is also very central along with secure packing at a very good price.

Room Tip: Ask for room with large soaker Tub & Heated Floors A very nice touch

Planning on attending a concert at a near by venue, we looked for a hotel within walking distance. We were very pleased with our choice. Alex, or Alan, pardon , was very accommodating & arranged for an early check in. Our superior king was very comfortable, on the quiet side, immaculate. The bath, adequate...good water pressure, but somewhat small. We slept well & enjoyed complimentary really good coffee, & a pastry of choice before our check out, in the cafe. The hotel was within walkable distances of all tourist sights...but a little off the usual tourist area. The price was right. We will be back! Thank you.

Room Tip: I don't believe that a pool,or fitness center is an option. So terrible isn't really quite c...

Such a wonderful hotel! Great location; close to the sights and the city's business centre. The room was gorgeous and as it was in the centre of the building quite quiet. Was great having a microwave and fridge, though I only used it for keeping water cold. Bathroom was great and water pressure fine. Only drawback was the silverfish I saw scurry across bathroom floor. It's why I gave it a four out of five.

The staff were friendly, helpful and charming. And I do mean all staff; from the front desk people to the housekeeping staff. And the food... yum! Highly recommend the big breakfast and also the chicken and waffles on the tapas menu.

Oh, heck, this place deserves a five out of five. After all, I have to go back to Victoria in a few weeks and guess where I am going to be staying?

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, ask for one in the centre or on the west side.
