Apart from being warmly welcomed and spending a very pleasant time at the Hotel Rialto, I appreciated their incentive to go green by paying back a generous bonus on their restaurant for waving the usual room clean-up on the second day, a clean-up I usually find unnecessary anyway. I also appreciated the complimentary cheese platter. All in all, the Hotel Rialto is clean, quiet, friendly and comfortable.

Thank you for pointing out a couple of items that we feel make us a bit unique amongst the properties here in Victoria. We know its the details that can make the difference between a good stay and a great one. I see you stayed with us on business, we hope you can join us again sometime for leisure.

Cheers.

We stayed overnight at this hotel even though we are residents of Victoria. We are frequent customers at the Veneto Lounge and had often wondered what staying overnight would be like. It was superb - from the beautiful room, to the great staff of the hotel and lounge, and the great food and drinks. We had no idea that they provided free coffee and pastries in the morning as well! The room was really quiet. I would highly recommend staying at the Rialto and can't wait to stay again.

Whats more fun than a mini "staycation" in your own city? Good for you, that should be a reminder to all of us to liven things up now and again.
Look forward to hosting your next one.

See you soon.

We stayed at this hotel all three days we were in Victoria through a deal with Clipper Vacations.

It's pretty centrally located in downtown Victoria and is within a block or two of a bus stop that will take you to the Butchart Gardens hourly ($2.50 each way!) and Fishermans Warf (~25 minute walk). You are also within walking distance to the Royal BC museum (~15 minutes) and a whole bunch of restaurants.

The hotel room was really nice. I appreciated the heated tile floors, and the signs under both thermostats converting Celsius into "cooler", "just right" or "warmer" for use US folk. Our room had 4 big windows that looked out into the city (not the best view from our room, but I still enjoyed it). WiFi signal was good from where we were and I had no issues connecting.

The front desk staff was also super helpful. Upon check-in, he asked us what we were planning to see in the city and pulled from his vast array of brochures and a giant map of Victoria to write down all of the things we said we might be interested in. He really took a personal interest in arranging our stay, it was really great, something I've never experienced before.

We got coupons for a free coffee + pastry (or $3 off breakfast) for each day we were there and one free cheese plate whenever we would like. The on premise restaurant beyond that was very pricey and we only went for the cheese plate and dessert one night. One thing I should say though, is if you use the coupons, please tip your waiter/waitress what it would be without the coupon. I do feel a little bad with that promotion because they probably get shafted a bit.

Hi Erik,
Sounds like you were able to accomplish a lot on your three days in Victoria. As a small independent boutique property, we rely heavily on our team to provide the type of service that will set us apart. It sound like you experienced that on your stay with us and thank you for acknowledging those involved.

Come back and visit us again soon.

We stayed here for a night and everything was great. The front desk staff are really polite and friendly. You will get a coupon for a free cheese plate and breakfast (coffee and pastry) when you check in. You can get the cheese plate from the hotel restaurant and you can either eat it there or take it up to your room. Everything was clean and the hotel looked looked quite new. The only thing that Bothered me was the size of the queen bed. It just seemed smaller than the one we have at home and my husband agreed with this too. The hotel is closer to Chinatown (so expect more homeless people around the neighbourhood), but still in walking distance to all places.

Hi Shannon,
Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for taking the time to spread the word. I do want to reassure you that our beds are in fact standard king and queen beds. Sometimes room size and surrounding furniture can affect perception or perhaps your mattress at home is oversized from a standard queen.

Hope to see you back again very soon.

This hotel is a boutique hotel which is smaller then most which really gives you a more intimate experience as the staff can connect with you much easier than found in large establishments. The staff are warm and welcoming and happy:-) I tend to be extremely picky at hotels when it comes to cleanliness
and I was totally and surprisingly able to just relax and enjoy the room with no concerns of that nature I slipped easily and happily into bed and had a great sleep Super comfy and clean. Amazing pillows, again usually a huge issue for me. The Veneto Tapa Lounge is a must while staying there. The atmosphere, the food, the service, all top notch. You receive a coupon for a cheese platter at the lounge (yum) and also coupons for a free coffee and pastry in the morning. A really nice added touch. Highly recommend this hotel :-)

I have to admit, there are 2 points to your review that are like music to my ears...First, cleanliness is paramount in our culture here and transfers to every staff member, so when we get feedback reflecting this, it is always reassuring. Secondly, knowing how much trial and effort went into selecting the sleep sets and pillow combinations in our guest rooms, when the positive comments come in, it lets us know it was worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to share it and hope to see you back soon.

I always choose small boutique downtown hotels when traveling and the Hotel Rialto fit the bill.
From check- in to check- out my daughter and I were very pleased. All of the front desk staff as well as those in the café and the lounge were very helpful and friendly.
The beds are unbelievably comfortable and the bath has cozy heated tiles.
Great location within walking distance of lovely restaurants and attractions. My daughter was able to work out with the pass provided at the local health club just down the street.
I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 411 had a lovely view of the clock tower on City Hall which is right across the street. This r...
