Great place to stay in the Victoria area. Walking distance to many city attractions and beautiful views from our room. Very comfortable with two dressing areas. Reasonable rates.

Room Tip: ask for harbor view on higher floor

We stayed at this hotel last November for one night. The noise from another room was so bad that one couple checked out in the middle of the night and the hotel charged our room and others to the offending party's bill. We were told that they were high school students. (We wondered what sort of reputable hotel would allow young people to rent rooms).

We tried the hotel again last night and it was almost as bad. We called the front desk at least 4 times before getting off to sleep after 1:00 AM. Even then we were still sporadically woken by slamming doors and loud voices. When we checked out front desk staff seemed oblivious to there having been any concerns.

Note: Restaurant and Lounge service were good. Our meals were very nice.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else if you want a quiet room.

Thank you very much for your feedback and sorry it has taken so long for someone to address your concerns.

I just started as the General Manager of the Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites and am sorry to read of your two disturbed nights of sleep in our Hotel. I have personally met with our Chief Engineer to see what can be done to reduce the noise when the door closers, either with the “closing arms or door dampeners”, and either way we need to find a solution for the doors, which can slam, especially if the guest has their bedroom window open.

We are embarking upon a complete refurbishment of the Hotel in the coming months, and with this, we will have an even better product to offer our guests; I hope to see you back in the coming months.

This hotel came up first on al the different websites I looked at. We reserved a standard room for $101 a night. When we got there we told the woman that we were there for our anniversary and could we get a room with a nice view? She asked if we wanted an upgrade for only $28 a night. For the extra money we got a two bedroom, split level suite with a kitchen and an incredible view. It was way more than we needed but what the heck. We had a king size bed in our room, and a decent sized bathroom on our floor. Up a short flight of stairs was the entry and then up another flight of stairs was a very spacious living room/dining area with a good size kitchen and a half bath. Set just above the living area
was a work area. Outside both floors were balconies with a beautiful view of life in the harbor. The room had free wi-fi. There were three televisions in the suite. The one Interesting thing was that all the tvs were the old box ones--no flat screens. This hotel couldn't be more convenient to the inner harbor area and with easy walking distance to the ferry station, Empress Hotel, and the downtown shopping/eating areas.

Room Tip: Never hurts to ask for updates

I just started as the General Manager of the Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites and I agree, the Bi-Level Suites are spectacular and just wait, after our refurbishment, they will be even better; and don’t worry, we will upgrade all our TV’s to flat screens, that’s a promise.

I hope to see you back soon, take care.

Love the location of the hotel. Only a couple of blocks away from main streets in Victoria, yet it is away from the hustle and noise. The suite was roomy, quite and very clean. I was very pleased all around.

This is an established, older hotel with all the amenities you would expect. We did not have a reservation (we usually do not make hotel reservations ahead of time when we travel off-season) and were very surprised at how reasonable the rates were. So much in fact we upgraded to a suite. We were given a two bedroom, two bath suite on the 10th floor, overlooking the beautiful harbor. The woman behind the desk thought we (just my husband and I) would enjoy "a little more room." The views at night are nothing short of spectacular! The lights on the Parliment building are beautiful. The ferries, water taxi's, harbor, downtown and beach are within walking distance. They booked a whale-watching tour for us that boarded just a few blocks away, too. They have a great restaurant called Vic's on the lobby level of the hotel. We ate dinner and breakfast there. It is pretty expensive but considering the atmosphere, food and service, we did not mind paying for a special dinner out. The whole stay was great.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of June, which happened to be a particularly nice weekend. It was great to have nice weather, but the 25 degree celsius weather outside meant it was also 25 degrees inside our room at night because there was no air conditioning and the fan in the room barely created a breeze even when set on "high". It was very difficult to sleep due to the heat. I would hate to experience these rooms when it really gets hot out! Air conditioning is definitely needed here. The rooms also have very thins walls and any closing of doors or talking in the hallway carried right into our room, adding to the sleeping difficulty.

The bathrooms looked nice but desperately needed a couple of things fixed as well: the fan in there did absolutely nothing other than make so much noise that we decided not to use it to save our eardrums. It was the loudest bathroom fan I've ever heard. Also, as another reviewer noted, the water pressure in the shower is too much. It was actually painful to take a shower!

The price is good for being so close to downtown Victoria, but you definitely have to make sacrifices on sleep and showering experiences.

I just started as the General Manager of the Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites and can sympathize with some of your challenges, which allows me to share with you, that we are in the process of preparing for a in depth refurbishment of the Hotel, in fact tomorrow we are beginning the work to add Air Conditioning to our Hotel, with the delivery of a very large HVAC unit for our roof.

With the full refurbishment, the bathroom and water pressure will also be addressed, with the installation of “limited flow shower heads”, which are more environmentally friendly, not to mention, nicer on your back.

I am sure you will see many new changes in the coming months and I would encourage you to contact me directly next time you are in Victoria at: ijones@silverbirchhotels.com.

Thank you, see you soon.

My wife and I just came back from a 7 night stay in Victoria. We stayed in the Premium King Suite, with harbour views. From the 9th floor, the views of the harbour were fantasic. We often used the kitchette to prepare inhouse meals, pulled the table by the window and watched the harbour activities.
Also worthy of note is by hotel standards, they had a well-outfitted fitness centre. I think they actually give non-residents memberships in the fitness centre, which is an excellent way to subsidize the cost of having a well-rounded gym.
The hotel is in good shape, although it could use some updating. However, our priorities were location, view, price and fitness centre. It was great to be a block from the harbour, which made for easy access. But it was also far enough back so that there was not all that much noise from the partiers.
We will certainly stay there again when we next visit Victoria.

Room Tip: Make sure room is high enough to see harbour.
