My husband and I first stayed at the Laurel Point about 15 years ago. It had been recommended by a travel agent and it had some dog-friendly rooms. We stayed there several times and always enjoyed it. However, as the years went by, we started staying at a B&B in the Victoria area and that became our regular place on our trips to Victoria. However, recently they made some changes at the B&B, and we decided to return to the Laurel Point (we have stayed there twice in the last 6 months). Because we have a dog, we stay in rooms in the older wing of the hotel.
It is a really nice hotel; the room, even in the older part of the hotel, is stylish and comfortable; it looked like it had been remodeled fairly recently. Really nice bathroom; comfortable well-made linens and towels. Beautiful view of the inner harbor. I was reading through the TripAdvisor reviews; one person complained of plumbing noise in the older part of the hotel; yes, one night I could hear some water running...but it's a hotel! And it was not loud enough to warrant mentioning. Everyone working in the hotel who we had any interaction with was friendly. Grounds of the hotel are beautiful; easy walk into the Inner Harbor...but set off enough that it is quiet (no street noise). We will definitely stay here again.More
