Arrived by fairy, the Inn is right next door. Stayed in the erikson wing, enjoyed the harbor and sunset views. On our last night we upgraded to the honeymoon suite, the jacuzzi sits in the middle of the suite, in an enclosed room surrounded by windows that open to the wrap around balcony with a view! We love jacuzzi suites and this one is the best! Separate bedroom and living room with an entrance to the huge balcony. The marble bathroom is awesome! Room service was quick and delicious. Can't wait to go back! If you can upgrade to the suite!

LPI is modern with a sophisticated decor. Our Erickson-wing room was immaculate and cozy. We overlooked the busy harbor on a cold, rainy day, adding to the cozy ambiance. Bathroom was wonderfully luxuriant. Staff accommodated us with a discounted upgrade which was very reasonably priced--all we had to do was ask. Staff was also very attentive and polite. Hotel is quiet--a perfect place for adults to get away for a relaxing stay in beautiful Victoria. This is not a children's hotel as the entire atmosphere of the LPI is high end with an air of finesse, and like I said, it's quiet (and children aren't). It's also steps from the Seattle/Victoria ferry and a bit farther, the Seattle/Victoria sea plane dock. Parliament is a couple blocks away and the downtown area is a 20 minute walk away--LPI is a convenient stroll to almost everything! Our only tiny problem was a broken in-room coffee maker...but no worries. One call to housekeeping and room service sent up an on-the-house pot of coffee for our trouble.

We stayed here for three nights during Christmas, mainly for the convenience since we had made reservations for their Christmas buffet. We had stayed here back in 1999 and really enjoyed it so we thought we'd give it another try. However, this most recent stay will be our last. The hotel is nice, done in an oriental/Asian style motif. Rooms are comfortable, but we had some problems with the housekeeping. We arrived on Christmas Eve and did not discover until late that night that there would be "basic" housekeeping done on Christmas Day. We figured this was because of it being a holiday and the shortage of staff. We came back to our room after finishing our buffet to find that all they had done was put towels in our room; didn't even bother to put them in the bathroom. They were folded and laid on the ottoman of the leather chair in our room. The bed was unmade and they didn't bother to take out the trash. We ended up calling down to the front desk to request trash pickup. Instead of just coming to the room to empty it, we were told to put our trashcan outside the door and someone would come empty it.
The pool was small and definitely not heated as it stated on the signs. We only stayed in a short time.
A big disappointment was finding out that parking is not free-at all. In fact, I believe it was around $19 per day.

I had later discovered when we arrived back home that we had left some items behind, including some US money. I kept in contact with the hotel housekeeping department for several days (in intervals) and was mislead by one staff member (who was very nice) to believe that we were out of luck due to customs regulations in having our money returned to us. After talking to someone else, that person arranged to have the funds shipped certified mail. I do want to say though, that the housekeeping department was wonderful in keeping in contact with us regarding this matter
The good news is that it took a much shorter time to arrive than we were told, but the bad news is that apparently the hotel took it upon themselves to keep some of the funds as payment for the shipping instead of charging it to our credit card, as we had originally agreed.

The Laurel Point has been our "go-to" hotel for several years when visiting family in Victoria (dont find it so convenient for business). The Ericsson suites, looking out over the hotel gardens and the Inner Harbour, have always had a soothing, Asian aesthetic. On our visit this Christmas, we found the new restaurant space to be a marked enhancement, and we were charmed by the Habitat for Humanity Gingerbread Houses displayed throughout the hotel.

Just came back yesterday. I booked a room with harbour view. But what I got was a view of Japanese garden (room 108). The garden was bueautiful. But it was not what I asked for.
Some reviews say that it is free for parking, but they charge overnight parking for 10 dollars for me.

Stayed here for 2 nights Dec 3-4/09. Check in was fast and easy. Reserved a room in the new wing - Erickson I believe and it did not disappoint. Big rooms, HUGE bathroom. Beds were very comfy and big. The view was quite stunning - nice big glass balcony. It was quite chilly out so we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the view however - my only complaint would be of the glass dividers with the balcony next door. If everyone was sitting outside there would be no privacy.
Great stay and would highly recommend it!
