“Excellent service & comfortable accommodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

My husband recently spent three nights at the Royal Scot Hotel & Suites. Our room was excellent as was the service provided by the staff. An unexpected bonus was the availability of the hotel shuttle bus for trips into downtown Victoria. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. I highly recommend this accommodation.

We had a complicated 7 person multi room booking that was seamless due to the Royal Scot. They were adaptable and easy to work with. When we showed up they upgraded our suite and gave us free parking for a late arrival's car. The suites have all the cooking gear needed to throw a snack or meal together. Every question we had was handled professionally and even the housekeeping staff was top notch. We left a pair of shoes in our room and they had bagged and tagged them by room and date. I will stay here again!

The hotel is very close to the Black Ball ferry terminal and downtown. The room was spacious, well-equiped kitchen and very comfortable. It was also nice to have a pool and hot tub available for relaxing after a long day of sight seeing!

I stated here for 2 nights whilst on an escorted tour of Canada, and I could not have picked a better location, or more well equipped room and I was very happy with my stay. The rooms are very large, with living and dining areas, a well equipped kitchen with full size oven, fridge, microwave and more than enough cooking utensils, cutlery & crockery. The bedroom was large, with a good amount of wardrobe space, and full size TV . There was also a huge amount of storage! In terms of location, it was a short walk in one direction to Fisherman's Wharf, whilst in another direction, you were 5 mins away from the parliament buildings, the harbour front promenade and Douglas Street. The only slight niggle I had was the slow service in the restaurant. Whilst the staff were very attentive & polite, the restaurant was not particularly busy but it took around 45 mins for my breakfast to arrive and I was on a schedule so I had to quickly rush it. Had I not been pushed for time though, then this may not have been that much of an issue, and I would most definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in a Victoria!

This hotel is conveniently located near ferry terminal and not a far walk to the Victoria sites. The room had everything we needed - kitchen, ample space, etc. Nice place but was dated and hot. They have fans in the rooms and the evening cools off quickly if windows are open.

We have stayed here before, many years ago, and liked the location. We came with family for a long weekend and the Royal Scot was the perfect. The staff is professional and friendly. The rooms are wonderful and roomy. We enjoyed the suite settling area in the evening to hang out and visit with family. We cannot wait to return. Perfect.

The Good:

1) Excellent location, could not ask for any better
2) Staff, very friendly in all aspects of our stay
3) Value, very reasonable
4) Amenities, tremendous level of amenities; exercise room (with pool), umbrellas (small touch like that but important), full kitchen, large separate rooms it was like an apartment really, games room, books to read, wi-fi (weak signal but ok), free pc and printer use, DvD player, etc. all excellent and pushed this hotel into the positive for us.
5) Quiet, remarkable we were expecting the elevator etc. to be noisy but it was stone quiet. We had the windows wide open all night (see below) and even that was quiet.
6) Clean

The Not so Good:

1) Room was pretty hot... no AC... there were 3 fans running when we arrived and we knew it was going to be a hot stay and it was. The outdoor temps were very mild thankfully, I think we would have really cooked on a hot day.
2) Quite dated... not a big deal but... it was dated more than we were expecting.

We would certainly return.
