Great location, friendly, helpful staff and really large suites. Only downside is bar which closes at 9.00pm.

I have just stayed at the Royal Scot for 2 nights on a tour of Canada and I picked this hotel via tripadvisor and I have to say it was a good value for money, in walking distance of the centre and provided everything I needed. The staff were very helpful and I had two good nights sleep as the location was away form any noise. I would stay here again if I was ever back in Victoria.

Just got back from Victoria, BC. Based on reviews from Trip Advisor, we stayed at the Royal Scot. What a delight. It was a bit warm and there is no air conditioning, so we mentioned this after checking into our first ground floor room. We were offerred a complementary upgrade into an even bigger suite with more ventilation and another desk fan was brought in. A free shuttle dropped us off at some excellent restaurants recommended by the staff. A good tip for the ferry to Port Angeles was to park the car there the night before and have the shuttle take us in the morning. However, it is only a 2 minute walk, so if you are not burdened with a lot of luggage, the ride is unnecessary.
Room service was prompt and tasty. No views of the beautiful bay, but at $179 per night with a living/dining/kitchen and separate King bedroom, this was perfect for a family with 2 teenage boys. Thank you Trip Advisor!!

I was very pleased with the Royal Scot and I somehow got a rate that was below what they advertise for a one-bedroom suite. The hotel has a great location and, unlike every other suite hotel I've stayed at, it has the bare minimum in utensils in the kitchen.

Once again Trip Advisor reviewers were on the mark - love this website and love people that post! We spent 1 night with hubby/ myself and 2 girls ages 12 and 10 about 2 days ago and the location was great, the room had AMPLE space and all that you would expect for a 4 star hotel. Ample bed linens/pillows, nice size Queen beds and then lots of room in the room itself. Plus, we arrived at 11 a.m during June 06 and our room was READY!!!! Big plus! Thank you staff!

Only downfall during our stay was no air and we had a corner room so we really lacked ventilation but they did have a ceiling fan as well as fan for window!!! Shuttle was nice from Ferry to hotel and back! From what we heard from other travelers on the "Clipper" we had a nice and quiet hotel. Most had no air as well, and were on a face street with car traffic/noise - this hotel is NOT. We had dinner at the Blue Crab nearby and had an excellent water view as well as fine cusine. Moderate priced restaurant with excellent cusine and within a few blocks of Royal Scot. Recommend that as well if you can spend about $200 a family w/ a bottle of wine. Main courses - $21 - $41.
