I initially gave three stars as it was perfectly clean, staff helpful except for the night desk person greeting me at one am. Wonderful fresh fruit and good coffee at comp. breakfast. My room however was unbearably hot and stuffy. Even using the portable a/c didn't help too much as the room heated up fast when the A/c timer clicked off. Tried keeping windows open but the late night noise from nearby bars didn't do much for a good night's sleep. And the street sweeper machine rolled around at dawn, then the trucks started their routes belching diesel fumes into the room. The wifi was hit and miss. The TV set up was unnecessarily complicated what with the set up connections to the VCR and when I finally got it on I couldn't change the channel. I gave up . Cancelled my remaining three nights and moved to another hotel. The lobby area is especially small and dismal. Everything is brown. And arriving at one am with the subdued lighting, it made a dismal first impression. Very disappointing. There are several hotels around the same area and same price range that are so much nicer. Even if you won't get a free breakfast. On the plus side the bathroom was lovely with good hot water and water pressure and very comfy bed. I really don't want to see a rebuttal from the management as they were aware of my issues with the room but staff just kept saying ..so sorry. They don't have a restaurant - just the morning cafe so only breakfast room service.

Room Tip: Don't take a room at the front of the hotel. I tried to move to the back to the waterfront side...

We stayed in a two-bedroom penthouse in mid August, 2013. The suite was spectacular and huge with incredible views of Victoria's gorgeous Inner Harbour. To clarify, one reviewer said it was 4 blocks from the harbor....no, it's maybe four blocks from the ferry station, but it is right on the harbor. Our suite (I think it was 801) had two living areas, a fireplace, a full kitchen, laundry room with our own washer and dryer, and two nice size bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Although it doesn't look like it was built in 2013, it was extremely nice and clean. And did I mention spacious?! Could not have asked for anything better and it was our favorite place we stayed on a two-week trip to the Pacific Northwest. Excellent free breakfast as well. Combined with the huge size of the room and the stellar location, it's an excellent value.

Room Tip: The penthouse is awesome, but according to booking.com, all the suites are extremely spacious. High...

Location was perfect. Easy to walk to many sights on our list. Parking included. Continental breakfast much better than typical. Room's in our suite were large and view was nice. Staff was friendly and very helpful and patient. Wish they had a pool and gym but the perfect location and Victoria in general is delightful for walking.

We spent a week at the Victoria Regent Hotel in Victoria, BC Canada the last week of August 2013. We shared a two bedroom suite with another couple on the 7th floor overlooking the water. We were met with smiles by the very well trained staff at the Front Desk. Our rooms were very well appointed with TVs in each room, excellent beds with plenty of closet and drawer space. The kitchen was completely outfited. We were very impressed with the staff, from housekeeping to the Front Desk. Everyone we encounted had a smile on their face and egar to help. There is a complimently, very complete breakfast with a very efficient staff, in a cherry room that overlooks the harbor
The hotel is located in the middle of the business district and only a very few blooks to shopping, China Town, Visitors Center and the Harbor activities. There are small water ferries and taxis that will take you on a tour of the harbor or to different areas of the harbor. The staff is very knowledgeable about restaurants and made reservations for us each evening. It is a very quiet hotel. I cannot recommend it more highly. We travel a lot and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the water sides as there is a lot of activity on the harbor and fun to watch.

The customer service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. Our room was very clean and had an amazing view of the pier as well as the Parliament building (which looks great at night with all the lights). The location of the hotel is also ideal. It is located next to many restaurants, pubs, shops, attractions, and it is about 5 minutes from the ferry. Being that they are not a chain, they take pride in their level of service. We will definitely be staying at the Regent Hotel in the future.

This hotel was located about four walking blocks from the harbor. The rooms were very nice and elegant, including a small patio with table and chairs. Front desk service was excellent. We felt the rate was very good for being so close to the harbor. Would highly recommend this property to our friends.

The views of Parliament and the Inner Harbor are great day and night. Ships, boats & planes are traversing directly in front of you with panoramic views all the way to the Olympic Mountains in Washington. It was difficult for me to leave the balcony and miss the scenery and action of the harbor. Very close to Chinatown and numerous other great restaurants. Don't miss Il Terrazzo restaurant, it's fabulous, and only 2 blocks away. This is not the swankiest hotel in town. Rooms in the Regent are older, including, Formica tops, but immaculately clean. People at the hotel were great, but most Canadians are, eh. Continental breakfast could be better, but it's included. You can always go to Wannawaffle only 3 blocks away for incredible waffles.

Room Tip: get a suite! views and the extra space are well worth the cost. 702 was fabulous 2 bedroom suite (n...
