Given that Victoria is being chopped up into smaller and smaller pieces, this B&B is truly the exception. One block away from the beach in Oak Bay, the location is ideal....quiet and away from the cit centre, but with amenities within easy walking distance. Local pubs nearby, walking along the ocean and virtually next door to Victoria's Golf course as well as Beacon Hill complete the serenity available. Given that this is a beautiful home of the early 1900's, the rooms aren't huge, but with two separate sitting rooms, one with a cozy fireplace, and the other a second floor sunroom, there is a nice openness.
The hosts, Mario and Nicole, are a superb wealth of information about Victoria....even showing me a back way out of town during the 18,000 competitor marathon!
Add to this the scrumptious breakfast, which changes daily, make it easy for me to give this establishment top grades.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Oak Bay Guest House. It is a beautiful 1912 character building with 11 guest rooms. Each room has it's own charm. We chose the Romance suite which was lovely. Our hosts, Mario and Nicole, were exceptional and made us feel right at home. The house has a large TV or reading lounge, complete with tea, coffee, cookies, & wine glasses for those who wish to bring their own. The breakfast room is sunny and inviting and the meals are incredible, better than any breakfast we have had while travelling. We highly recommend this place for those who want a cozy B&B instead of a chain hotel room.

This charming B&B in Oak Bay is just the gateway to relaxing holiday. The friendly host family offers a huge variety in the tasty breakfast. The rooms are clean, affordable and personalized. This Victorian guesthouse is just the best deal when visiting the capital Victoria.

We stayed for 3 nights in August, 2013. We stayed in the Garden Room which had the private bathroom just down the hall. It was reasonably priced and the bathroom in the hall was no problem - we had our own key and were the only people using it so we could leave cosmetics etc. in the bathroom. The room was very nice with two single beds. Lots of ventilation with the open window. There was a closet with two robes (for late night bathroom visits!) and a dresser. The three breakfasts we had were outstanding! There was so much food - a cold buffet with fruit, fresh muffins, bagels etc. Then the hot breakfast item - a choice to two breakfasts. We had crepes, smoked salmon scrambled eggs, pancakes...all delicious. Unlimited hot, good coffee. The breakfast was usually enough to keep us going till well into the afternoon! There was a nice sunroom on the upper level where you could sit and have a glass of wine, read etc. We found the wi-fi to be a bit unpredictable, the only place where we could almost always connect was in the main floor living room. The owners, Mario and Nicole, were extremely nice and helpful with recommendations of restaurants in the area and a wonderful route into downtown Victoria. We really liked this B&B and would highly recommend it.

A wonderful old home about 20 minutes from downtown Victoria. Located in a nice neighborhood where we two women felt very safe taking our morning walk. The hosts were lovely and helpful, plenty of directions and ideas for places to dine etc. The breakfasts are delicious, varied, and creative. We stayed in the cozy Garden Room, apparently the only room without an in-room bath. We arrived late at night and found our key in an envelope at the front door. With no note about the location of the bathroom, we searched high and low for 20 minutes before trying our room key in one of the doors across the hallway. Luckily it was the bathroom and not another guest’s room! You are provided a fluffy robe to get from your room to bath. Note that you have 1-2 long sets of stairs to climb with your bags, depending on the floor you stay on.
