We stayed 3 nights in this B&B and found the hosts delightful, the breakfasts terrific, and our room spacious and well appointed. The B&B is in a nice neighborhood two blocks from the sea. Downtown victoria is a pleasant twenty minute walk or so through the park. We definately would stay here again!!

July, 2005 Chalet By the Sea In Victoria, BC

After completing an Alaskan Cruise, we went to Victoria, B.C. We picked a Bed and Breakfast at random since we had never been to Victoria before. What a lucky find! The Chalet By The Sea was definitely a highlight of our entire vacation. The room we stayed in was beautiful, comfortable and so homey as was the entire atmosphere. The family that runs the Bed and Breakfast are delightful people and make your stay there relaxing and peaceful. The food was excellent, the best pancakes I've ever had. Actually every breakfast was excellent. We would recommend staying there to anyone. We wished we could have stayed longer and certainly plan to go again. If you are planning a trip to Victoria, try to stay at the Chalet By the Sea and enjoy!

My wife and I stayed at the B&B Chalet By The Sea for two nights while we explored Victoria and we couldn't have asked for a better location, just a few blocks from the picturesque waterfront to view the para-sailing/gliding enthusiasts or fly our kite! Our room was very charming and comfortable with a lot of space to relax including the claw foot tub, fireplace and cd player. Our hosts, Ava and Alexander, were very nice and knowledgeable about restaurants, museums, excursions etc... and ready to accomodate with reservations for whatever we wished. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts in the morning and the chocolate and desert wine in the evening. Victoria is a jewel of a city and Chalet By The Sea is a fitting place to stay!

If you are drawn to a place conducive to meditation, relaxation, the enjoyment of natural beauty and aesthetic decor, you'll be at home at the Chalet By the Sea.

The rooms are spacious and airy, with A plus beds and room to do yoga and meditate. Breakfast is totally healthy, tasty, and served in a graceful, lovely manner. In a short walk, you are on the beach, smelling the sea breeze and looking across the water at magnificant mountains.

Finally, the owners of this B&B welcome their guests with an open heart. They are fine, intelligent, spiritually awaken people who make their home a wonderful refuge for those who visit.

For us, Chalet by the Sea could not be more perfect. It's on a quiet block in a lovely neighborhood yet still very close to downtown and the Ferry to Port Angeles. Being one half block from the beach, we were able to take a lovely evening stroll along the water.

Ava and Alexander were fabulous hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Ava's breakfasts were exceptional and she made sure my special dietary needs were met with flavor and flair.

The house itself was beautiful. Our room was big and the bathroom was modern and luxurious. As a painter I especially enjoyed the original art selections that adorn the walls.

And, if you're like me and you need to keep tabs on business while you're vacationing, there's wireless internet service available.

We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and this was one of the best. For all the luxury and attention that we received I would have expected it to be much more expensive. We only wish our stay had been longer.

Twice now we have travelled from our home up the Fraser River Valley outside of Vancouver to Victoria to stay at the Chalet by the Sea. Our stays have been scrumptuous...the home itself, from the outside stands out as a house with character, stories from the past and well-maintained elegance. Not pretentious at all, but Elegant...

Paintings, sculptures, furniture and artifacts are tasteful, eclectic and interesting...wonderful smells tease your senses as soon as you are welcomed in the door.. which you might be Ava,Alexander or Gabriel.

All 3 of them, although one is only 10 years old immediately make you feel welcomed, but not overwhelmed...the enviornment is relaxed and fascinating all at once.

Located a blocks' walk from the Juan de Fuca straight, where there are cliffs, paths to the sea, seals, driftwood and fantastic views of the Olympic range over in Washington it is also a short walk to Beacon Hill park, where Mile 1 of the Trans Canada highway is staked. Through the park you can take a lesurely stroll past cricket courts, fomral gardens redolent with colour, swans skimming the surface of a pool and on to the Inner harbour and Parlaiment buildings, Museums, everything from local arts and crafts to fine English china, street buskers and symphony orchestras, pubs, fish and chip shops and fine dining.

If you are looking for an experience that is elegant, not pricey, with a fantastic carefully presented breakfast, cozy and inviting furnishings and your creature comforts met superbly we really couldn't recommed Chalet by the Sea any more striongly.. We have been back twice now and have sent relatives over... Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We feel certain that You will too !

It's difficult to find the words to express how wonderful our stay at Chalet by the Sea was. My two sisters and I brought our mother for a weekend of birthday fun, and our stay at this B & B was the best part. Ava and Alexander are spectacular hosts, completely accomodating and helpful. Ava booked a wonderful masseuse and esthetician ofr our mother, the room was ready extra early for us (and looked AMAZING, by the way), and the breakfast was exquisite. Could NOT have asked for a better weekend. The short walk to the gorgeous beach was a fabulous bonus... as well as the beautifully decorated 1905 home.

If you'll be staying in Victoria, stay at Chalet by the Sea!
