The displays were excellent and there was enough to see that it should be a must see while in Victoria.

Not too large, easy to do in a couple of hours. Interesting and varied exhibits. Especially liked the Antarctica exhibit.

This museum has so much to see you really need 2 days. However, it is split up well so you can choose what rooms or themes you want to see if on a time restraint. I was very impressed with the quality and creativeness of all the displays. I dare say it is a step above museums in the US! Lots of reading and walking. They have a GREAT temp exhibit and IMAX movie right now on the race to reach the South Pole, the reason why I wanted to visit here in the first place. I spent over in hour just in here! I also really liked the first people’s display, and taxidermy animals, and the maritime part. Be ready to get lost though there are lots of places to go and you can get turned around very easy! It is a great museum for children and adults, but be prepared as it is where school trips go so lots of crazy kids running around.

I recently visited Victoria and went to the museum. I have been a few times before, but not in a few years. I was disappointed that there wasn't a "temporary" exhibit on, hence one room was closed. The main exhibits are great....looking back to days past, Aboriginal art, life in Canada, but to me, looked a little worse for wear. Having said that, if you have not been before, it is worth a trip.

Nothing to dislike. Everything to like .We spend about 3 hours in this Victoria landmark. Way too short. Many very interesting displays featuring BC 's past .Also very informative the race to the South Pole. And the history of first nations with their boats, shelters tools and belongings.
