“See all of BC under one roof!”

As a conference attendee, we had a reception in the BC Museum, third floor. Though we did not have the run of the building, what was available to be seen and explored was very impressive. Terrific collection of native history as well as the history of the creation of modern BC. The rooms are all linked with relics or facsimiles of the old towns, mines, ships, etc that give you a feel of what life was like back in the day. It could have easily taken a number of hours to go through the entire building and exhibits.

“Amazing museum”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

This is a must do. My kids loved the mammoth and the other animals. We didn't try the IMAX but we really enjoyed it.

“Excellent learning experience”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

Our boys aged 5&2 loved this museum running from one display to the next and we had a good time too. They loved the multi-sense experience from the real ice wall on the wooly mammoth display to the oily smells on board the ship... Fortunately the fish market was purely visual...

“Such a good museum!”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

I live in Victoria but I never tire of visiting the museum. The displays are really neat, eye appealing, and rotate often. I have always loved the replica old Victoria town village and fake railway. This is one of my most vivid memories as a child. I've been to museum all over the world, and this one is very up there. Highly recommended!

“One of the best museums in the world”
Reviewed 31 May 2013

Unique in that they immerse you in a historical scene. The attention to detail is staggering. Smell apple pie baking in the kitchen or the ocean at the (fake) beach. Luckily no smell from the realistic looking fish guts on the floor in the cannery! The First Nations (NW Native) displays are the best anywhere.
