This is the second time we have stayed at the Travelodge in Victoria, B.C. and we would definitely recommend it for the cleanliness, value and location. The hotel clerk, Indu, was very accommodating, efficient and friendly. She had a lovely smile! You can tell she enjoys her job.

Fair price for breakfast ($5.95) which was excellent but thought the coffee should have been included in the price as it cost $2.00!

Overall, comfortable beds and having a microwave and fridge was a bonus!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. We are very proud of what we have to offer guests especially the unbeatable value and great location. Our housekeeping staff are especially an asset to our hotel providing all of our guests with the highest standards of cleanliness which has earned them numerous awards. Our Executive Housekeeper brings more than 30 years of experience and it shows in the quality of our guest rooms.

I am so pleased that you have chosen to make us a home away from home and I will be sure to pass on your kind feedback to all of the staff, particularly Indu. Although the on-site restaurant is independently operated from the hotel, I can certainly pass on your feedback about including coffee with the price of a meal. Thanks again for writing a review and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Having worked for more than thirty years in the travel industry, I've stayed at some great hotels. The Travelodge Victoria may not be a super deluxe five-star, but what it lacks in glamour and glitz it makes up for with its efficiency, friendly service and downright good hotel-keeping, so I rate it as one of my 'greats'.

It's situated in the Outer Harbour area of Victoria. It's not in the thick of things and therefore reasonably quiet. At the same time, it's within easy reach of the city centre. We had a rental car but chose to take the number 11 Bus that stops within a few yards of the hotel - C$1.65 for seniors each way, a bargain!

We only needed a one-night stop and, when I booked online (they have a very efficient online system!) many, many months in advance, I asked for a quiet room on the same level as the main desk and facing the water. Of course, we knew that couldn't be guaranteed but, lo and behold, that's what we were given - and more!

Our room was a spacious suite with two Queen-sized beds and a kitchenette (cooker, fridge, microwave, sink, crockery and cutlery). Everything was scrupulously clean, the decor was simple but very pleasant with big pictures of yachting scenes, and the lighting was well above average. The beds were big and comfy, the air-conditioning was efficient and reasonably quiet. There was free Internet access in the room and a huge plasma-screen television. There was even an in-room safe, something that even the most expensive hotels we stayed at during our month in Canada all lacked. The room was accessed by an external corridor and that, as well as the bedroom window, looked out towards the water.

The bathroom, with bath, shower, wc and handbasin, was spacious. The water pressure in the shower was just amazing!

The crowning glory was the staff. All the young ladies at the front-desk and Darryl Wilson, the General Manager, deserve special mention for their friendly smiles and efficient manner. Nothing was too much trouble and the information and advice they provided so willingly was always spot-on.

We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We hope to return some time - and will certainly stay for longer.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for the glowing review of our hotel. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. My staff and I certainly appreciate feedback like yours which is always a motivator to continue to work hard and provide the highest level of quality and service to all of our guests.

We look forward to being of service to you, your family, and friends on future trips to Victoria. If you are interested in staying longer in the future, I encourage you to consider the snowbird season when people from all over Canada flock to Victoria to escape the harsh winters in other parts of the country. Special extended stay rates are offered at that time of year.

Thank you again for writing a review and we look forward to your return visit!

Our family of 5 from Ontario stayed here in a suite one night while on a 1 week vacation to BC and Alberta. The room was clean, quiet and offered everything we needed - a kitchenette with dishes, two sofa beds, a bedroom with a queen bed and free parking. The front desk staff were extraordinarily friendly, helpful and efficient. We were exhausted from travelling all day and it was wonderful to be treated so nicely. The hotel is north of downtown a bit but that suited us fine as downtown was very busy and more expensive.

Pros: Clean room, huge comfortabe bed, good shower, big tv. The staff were also very friendly, and even made a few recommendations which were well received

Its a motel style, with room doors onto the carpark. Rooms are pretty small, but large enough that you dont bump into everything as you walk round. The interior of the rooms (and the hotel) is functional, but dated.

It was a 30 minute (brisk) walk into the downtown, which is really where you want to go. There is a supermarket, not too far from the hotel, but you'll find yourself leaving the area of the hotel to
head downtown to sightsee or go to pubs/restaurants.

In summary we stayed there for 4 nights, and while it has everything you would need for a short stay, i wouldnt really want to be there much longer than that.

We paid around £55 a night to stay there, so it was good value, but next time i would consider paying a little more for something closer to downtown

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I am pleased to hear that we met your expectations.

We are always seeking to improve our guest rooms and we are aware that some of our decor is appearing somewhat dated but rest assured that it is a work in progress and that we are constantly striving to find ways to better meet the needs of our guests.

In regards to location, it isn't for everyone. However, you will find it to be quiet and accessible with spectacular views of the Upper Harbour. We do our best to bring downtown a little closer to our guests by offering a complimentary shuttle to downtown and informing our guests of the numerous alternative transportation modes including public transit, harbour ferry, and bicycle. With such quick and seamless access between our hotel and downtown, most of our guests find it to be very convenient for the price. Although the vast majority of pubs and restaurants are located in the downtown core, there are many hidden gems in our neighbourhood right within walking distance that offer everything from affordable Chinese to traditional Italian pizza to waterfront dining....just ask the Front Desk!

Thanks for your review and I hope you will consider us again in the future.

Stayed at the Victoria Travelodge the night of July 18th, 2011. Found it on the internet the night before and when I called it sounded like the kind of place we'd like. Darrell was very helpful in terms of location etc. and I was really pleased to be able to make a reservation on such short notice in the peak season. Arrived mid morning and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and it stayed that way till we left the next day. Very quick to answer our questions and suggested the Scenic Route on our way home! Great. Wish we could have stayed longer! The only "down" side was the breakfast - slow service but the waitress did the best she could. All in all would recommend it. About 10-15 minutes from the Inner Harbour.
