The price was right as I booked months in advance and had a $96 rate in July so that part was good.

Not Good -
Intermittent noise frustration. There is a door that connects most rooms from the rooms on the other side of the hotel and you can hear everything happening there. This is a bad design and was the single most frustrating issue during my stay here. It is impossible for people to not disturb those in rooms on the other side. The solution would be for some money to be spent to replace most of these connecting doors with real walls that have some semblance of noise insulation - guests would be a lot happier.
WIFI - We had problems with the internet initially and the front desk said all was good. Two calls to their tech service company resulted in the tech folks contacting the hotel and telling them then needed to reboot their router. It was frustrating that they didn’t respond when we first called two hours earlier. After that the internet would just drop for no good reason. We stayed nine days and it happened every day.
Older room - the room is older and the furnishings a tad dated but not unexpected for the price.
Small counter - there was only 5” of space either side of the sink so you had limited places for toiletries.
Breakfast was not included but they seemed to have fair prices at the restaurant. I didn’t use it.
There is a bar at the front of the hotel but noise from that did no bother me. The noise was from people walking along the cat walk and the folks on the other side of the dividing door.
Bed linens - I stayed in July yet the bed had a blanket and a comforter which was way too much. I ended up “unmaking” the bed to remove the blanket and asked housekeeping to not put it back on the bed.
Outlets - almost non-existant. I had to unplug the coffee maker to plug in my laptop.
No microwave - we weren’t in a suite. Coffee service was a small Sunbeam water heating device.
Also, there is a potential very long walk, around tight corners to get the luggage rack to the 1st and 2nd floors. The third floor requires you to drag bags up stairs.

Good -
Massive TC - it overhangs the cabinet it sits on and is probably 42”. Good assortment of channels and New carpet but bathroom could use a redo. Great shower/tub. The tub fills super quick - that was great for taking baths and the water is more than hot enough.
Refrigerator - There is a nice size refrigerator that held everything at a good temperature.
Bed - we were comfortable enough in the bed and it was nicely supportive.
I never heard noise from the room above or the rooms beside me - only from the room with the connecting door on the opposite side of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try for a room without a connecting door if at all possible and try to get one as far away from the...

We had a king size room. The room was a little small, but clean. The only issue we had is that the bar at the hotel was your regular run of the town bar and got a little loud and the guests for the bar were parking in the hotel parking lot that when we returned to our room at night it was difficult to find parking near our room. Otherwise it was a great place to stay for what we needed it for, for the first few days of our vacation.

My husband an I stayed at this motel for 3 weeks in June 2014 and have not one bad thing to say about our stay here. Our room was clean and quiet the whole time. Our room was cleaned twice every week and the cleaning was always stellar! The manager and all the staff we met were very warm and welcoming and always trying to pease. We will continue to recommend this motel to everyone we meet.

Room Tip: For those with pets, there is a dog park right next door

We booked this hotel for one night as we had just finished a cruise in Vancouver and were heading North on Vancouver Island to Parksville. Felt a bit depressed as we arrived as the property looked a bit run down and there was a large skip in car park. Staff were friendly on check in and explained they were in the process of renovating. We had a lot of luggage and our room was on second floor, there was no lift....however, the man on reception kindly offered to carry our bags. We got a pleasant surprise when we got into our room, quite spacious and very clean. Bathroom was adequate for our needs for the night and also spotless. Went to bar for drink and felt a little uncomfortable for a few minutes as the few people in there stared at us...they all seemed to be locals. We sat by the window and a waitress came and gave us a menu...we explained we only wanted a drink but then my husband spotted something with prawns on the menu and ordered....when they arrived the waitress brought us an extra plate as she guessed I would want to try them....they were delicious! Before we had finished our drinks and food the karaoke began....we are not a lover of karaoke so decided to finish our drinks and leave. I dont know why, but we stayed a bit longer....and longer and had a fabulous evening! The place was packed by 11pm and everyone seemed to come to sing and all seemed to know each other and all were friendly towards us and made us fee part of something...great experience. The following morning we had a delicious breakfast (charged extra but worth it) and the staff gave us lots of info on thing to see and do around our final destination. A very surprising stay and proves one should make assumptions. Will stay here again if passing through Victoria...thanks for the great tme

We stayed here for a couple of nights in June and were pleased with how nice the hotel was. It looks a bit shabby from the outside, although it seemed to be having renovations. Our room though was very well kept - we got upgraded to a room with a kitchenette (although they locked away the kitchenware..) and very comfortable. There is a little bit of the normal noise from the rooms next door to deal with, but not the road noise I thought we'd get given we were close to the front of the hotel.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The pool was decent enough for a quick dip, and it was nice to have the option of some basic gym equipment and sauna although we didn't use them. The wifi signal was a bit pathetic by the time it got to our room - much better if you hover near reception! Nice to have a safe in the room, as we were travelling with passports, cash etc..

The location of the hotel isn't great if you want to walk downtown - when the site says minutes, it means by car! Busses run regularly from just outside the hotel, but the walk is about 30 minutes at least and not through a very nice area of town (prostitution and drug deals both sited when we walked!). We taxi'd back after dinner! Overall though, a good stay!
