We had the pleasure of staying at Wits End Retreat for four days during Christmas. The wonderful B&B far surpassed our expectations and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Located about 30 min from downtown Victoria, this B&B was actually in a great location for us and really close to the beach and some hiking trails. I did not mind it being a drive from downtown, but some people may like a closer location.

Unlike most B&B rooms we have stayed at, this one was very spacious and actually resembled the pictures on their website. There were a few areas in the room to sit and stretch out. The garden views were quite nice, but we were really drawn to the birds getting their fill on the feeders and the plump squirrels figuring out ways to steal their food, which they did many times.

By far my favorite features were the comfortable bed, the glorious claw foot tub in which two people can soak comfortably and the adjacent shower with the showerhead that came from the ceiling! We really felt comfortable in the space and only wish we had more downtime to enjoy the room and the lovely grounds. Christmas is usually a crazy time so this place really did become a retreat for me.

To top it off both Sandy and Heather were great hosts. They gave us the privacy that I wanted, but were available if you needed them. Sandy's breakfasts were delicious--the apple crepes were by far my favorite and my husband like the sausage fritters. Heather was wonderful with the breakfasts in the morning and we always found cheese, crackers and a few other treats every time we came back to the room. They even went out of their way to accommodate my husband's alternative diet.

For those that need to be connected, the cell coverage was a bit spotty and there was no phone in the room, but the WiFi coverage was good.

If I could take this B&B wherever we travel so we could have a wonderful place to stay I would, but since that is not an option, we will have to stay here whenever we are in Victoria.
