I have not been inside, but the history of the building is clearly displayed outside.

“Staid”
Reviewed 19 January 2012

Perhaps it is just a matter of having been too many times - now it no longer holds my interest and I no longer have children to take with me.

“a quaint place to visit”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

This is a small museum house and it is free to enter, although you can make a donation if you like. It is well laid out all on one level so people with mobility issues can manage this attraction. You can touch the exhibits which is unusul. there is no pressure to make the donation but they do appreciate even small coins in the box. There is a lady volunteer who will show you around if you so wish. You can do this visit in less than half an hour.

“An interesting side trip in Victoria”
Reviewed 30 July 2008

An interesting side trip, located within easy walking distance of the Fairmount Empress Hotel in Victoria and adjacent to both the Royal British Columbia Museum and Thunderbird Park. This 1850s house has been (simplistically) maintained in its original condition and with many original contents. To add to its charm, there is a suggestion of some of the original occupants from the 1800s who haven't decided to move out yet!
