Owner description: This scenic patch of waterfront is the location of Victoria's many tourist attractions, recreational activities, restaurants and shopping. For a special treat, have afternoon tea at the grand Empress Hotel or board a ferry for a harbor tour.

We took a leisurely stroll around the harbourside and it's promanade. It is really beautiful and photogenic. When we were there they even had stalls selling handmade crafts. All the main sights are pretty much along here though you may have to cross the road to access some onf the attractions.

Takes 20 minutes to walk it; an hour or two to enjoy it: people watching, a stop for coffee and ..., a visit to the Fairmont Empress public rooms, some pictures of the Parliament Building lit up at night, street performers and vendors and charming little ferries like water bugs. No place like it that we've seen, except for some parts of the Paris Seine River quais and busier sections of the Vancouver Stanley Park seawalland the Oban (Scotland) waterfront at night.

In the summer the harbour is alive with action. Seaplanes, boats, street vendors, buskers, markets and lots of tourists. A great place to enjoy a nice summer day.

In the winter it's a little more peaceful on the boardwalk side, but still lots to see.

It's a shame undersea gardens and the wax museum are gone.

No matter the day or time there was something coming or going. If you like ships and planes this is the place to get your fill.
