Beautiful suite in the heart of downtown Victoria was very comfortable for our family of four. 25m pool is fantastic for an early morning swim, and the movie theatre in the hotel was a great family bonus!

We stayed here for the first time over a busy weekend. Our reservation got caught in a glitch caused by the computer reservation system, but that was dealt with professionally by the staff and we were not put out. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful and the room was beautiful as well. A huge kitchen would have been definitely used if we weren't staying only one night. Our only issue was with other guests being very loud on the balconies at different times of the night and early morning (3:30 a.m.). They moved inside once I went out to try to figure out where they were coming from and the front desk staff in the morning were again very professional, offering us a free continental breakfast. We would definitely consider staying here in the future and will also definitely request a quiet room.

I stayed at the Hotel for one evening. I had a special event and rushed to check-in right after work. The hotel was accommodating and allowed me to check in early but the room upon arrival was clearly not what I had been led to believe I had booked. If not for this miscommunication which set a bad tone for my evening and in turn caused me to miss an appointment things would have run swimmingly and I may have had a better stay.

We found this hotel very well located, just a block away from active downtown scene, however, you are able to enjoy the luxury of waking up to the beautiful St. Ann's Academy. Nicely appointed suites, staff is great and willing to assist with whatever may be required. Wonderful to have the coffee shop/restaurant downstairs for a good quick bite or coffee. A very good experience for a one month stay.

The location is excellent, near the Royal BC museum, an easy walk to the harbour area. Underground parking is included. The lobby is beautiful with a tropical feel, including an atrium, a waterfall, koi ponds inside & out and a large fireplace. We arrived a little early and were told that they would do their best to check us in early, which they did. They even took our stored luggage into the room and unloaded it. The room was very nice, a 2 bedroom suite with king beds & TV in each. The master had a large tub & fireplace. There was a kitchen, dining area, living room with fireplace & a small balcony. It was very clean & nicely decorated. The large pool was a little cold for a young child, better for swimming laps. Also the hot tub was a bit too hot for kids. There is a private movie theatre with several movies shown each evening. What was exceptional about this hotel is the outstanding staff. They were helpful and knowledgeable. We asked for a suggestion for dinner, within walking distance, preferably with a view & child friendly. They suggested the Flying Otter. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it was perfect. (I reviewed it too) For breakfast we requested a restaurant that served pancakes. They suggested Vista 18 at the Chateau Victoria (also reviewed). It was close, had a wonderful view of the harbour and an excellent, well priced menu. We would have walked right by it without their suggestion. The hotel was great, so was the location but the staff were the best!

This hotel has everything for a relaxing vacation. Your self contained room, the friendly staff and the spa make it the place to stay in Victoria. If you want to get away for a few days this is the spot.
Cheers!!!

Hotel was ok but the biggest problem was there was no parking for my crew cab truck. Most hotels have a few spots available for a vehicle like mine but NOTHING at the Parkside. I was left to shuffle my truck from spot to spot every two hours in order to not get a ticket. There was overnight parking on the street from 6-10. Other than that parking was highly inconvenient. The staff was very unsympathetic about my situation as well.

Thank you for your review of The Parkside Hotel & Spa. We are sorry to hear that you found our parking insufficient. Unfortunately, being located so close to downtown we only have underground parking to offer and the height restrictions are 6’7”. We hope that you will come back and stay with us, as we can offer you more information regarding nearby parking lots that can take taller vehicles. We apologize that this information was not offered on you on your previous stay, and will use this as a coaching tool. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope we can welcome you back soon.
