I tend tostay here the most when visiting Victoria. The staff are always very pleasent and welcoming. From the check in to the consierge. Everyone is fantastic. i also really like the location , the hotel is tucked away but right in the center of things. The rooms are modern nice and spacious

Room Tip: All rooms are good

We were a bit hesitant to book at the Marriott due to a few negative reviews, however, we decided to go ahead and we're glad we did.

First, the name is a bit misleading in that the hotel is not actually on the harbor. It is a block away behind the Empress Hotel. That wasn't a problem for us but some have expressed disappointment and feel the name is misleading.

We had a corner room on the 9th floor facing the Empress. We could glimpse a small patch of the harbor from our room and had a rather nice view of distant snow capped mountains as well. The room had a small balcony. We were concerned that the elevator was only about 15 feet from our door but in the four days we were there, we never heard it day or night.

We did not visit the hotel restaurant as there are so many restaurants within easy walking distance.

The hotel location is within easy walking distance of most attractions save for Butchart Gardens (which is accessible by bus at the kiosk in front of the Empress Hotel).

Don't miss the Orca (killer whale) watching tour! It was the high point of our trip.

Next time we visit Victoria we'll certainly stay at the Marriott again.

Room Tip: Reserve a balcony room with either a "harbor" view (you may or may not actually be able to see some of the harbor) or a city view. If you are interested in the concierge floor, inquire in advance about the concierge lounge hours of operation.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The location was perfect because the popular attractions and shopping were all within walking distance. We stayed as a family with 3 little boys and it was nice to leave the car in the garage and just walk to the museum or along the harbour too! The rooms are so nicely appointed and the large floor to ceiling windows provided nice views of downtown. We stayed at a room with 2 double beds and there was still plenty of room for a twin roll-away, which was really nice! The front desk and staff are all so kind and wonderful. The first time we stayed, we ate Sunday Brunch at their restaurant and it was delicious. We always try to stay at Marriott because we know we could get great consistent service and amenities. This property definitely does not disappoint! The only downside is it does cost a lot per room. But what do you really expect for prime location in a popular city? Great stay all the way around.

We picked this hotel for the location because it is in Downtown Victoria and the rate was reasonable. This hotel is relatively new and modern compared to some of the other hotels in the area. There is a gym and a swimming pool. Free wi-fi was available in your room as well as the lobby. The business centre was really really small just for one person only.

Since the hotel is located a couple blocks behind the Inner Harbour, there is no views in any of our rooms. However, the staff was helpful and curteous with the lots of Dinning and Sightseeing options within walking distance.

I will bring my family stay here when I vacation in Victoria.

I usually pick a Marriott because they are predictable...the most comfortable beds, clean and up-kept. This one was no exception. It was perfect for my one night stay while traveling back to the states from northern Vancouver Island. The restaurant is horribly overpriced so I decided not to eat there. But thankfully it is in a good location to walk to the main drag of town. The decor in the hotel could be updated. The room was very quiet. Good experience overall.
