My son and partner took me here for lunch shortly after I arrived at my harbour hotel. We were walking to Ogden Point along the waterside walkway. It's a fresh fish store, with an enormous variety of seafood for sale, some still in tanks. You order at a little stand, then take your food to a picnic table to gaze out at the harbour. We had halibut and chips, one piece for $14, two for $20, which you might feel is a tad high for a place without a lot of restaurant amenities, but worth every penny. Fresh fish, light batter, terrific fries, and who wouldn't prefer looking at the ocean and breathing salt air to sitting inside at a generic formica table?

We went there on a weekend afternoon. The wharf was full of people but no line for 'The fish store'. The place next door, which serves fish and chips had a long line of people waiting.
The food was delicious and we went three times to buy some more portions.
The whole Fisherman's Wharf has a great atmosphere and lovely boat houses one can view.
Highly recommend!

A local tour guide operator recommended this restaurant because they have the freshest local seafood around. The fish was on par with Barb's next door, but their coleslaw was better. They also do not serve "chips" - it's just regular fries. Maybe they were having an off night, but it took forever to get our order. I would swear it was close to 30 minutes. I'm not patient enough to go through that line again.

Had the halibut fish and chips...so fresh. Not greasy at all. Salmon chowder was equally delicious with three kinds of salmon...fresh, smoked and candied. Skip th line at Barb's next door and enjoy this fresh and responsible food.
