Had a great stay in this extremely well appointed 1-bedroom suite. The kitchen was way nicer than mine! slate tile flooring, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful hotel. Great staff - booking office was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Stayed on a Wednesday night after arriving on the Victoria Clipper from Seattle, WA. We were happily allowed an early check-in at 1pm (normally check-in is at 3pm). Stayed on the 8th floor and asked if we could have a view towards Parliament (great to see at night) and we got it. The room felt more like a modern condo than a hotel. Very clean, welcoming, and all the necessities you could ask for. Even French press coffee which was a nice change of pace. Restaurant downstairs was not bad either, we ordered the sampler plate which included a nice spread of cheese, meat, fruit. They also happily held our bags until we departed at 5pm the next day. Location was just 2 blocks from the inner harbor which I found nice since it was away from all the tourist activity, but close enough that you never felt too far removed from anything. Overall, an amazing deal for the price we paid.

I visited the Oswego with my family in August 2011. We were on a long awaited trip to Canada and the Oswego Hotel was an excellent choice. We chose a one bedroom suite and the suite was beautiful - we could not have asked for a better hotel. The kitchen was fully equipped, the balcony overlooked a quiet street and my children were able to use the free internet in the business suite. I could not think of anything that could improve this hotel and if I ever had the opportunity to visit Victoria again I would return to this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our visit to Victoria a memorable one.

Our kid-free weekends are often enhanced by ‘staycations’ here on Vancouver Island. We do our research and try to stay at the hotel in whatever area we choose that seems the most in line with our priorities (GIGANTIC TUB!!!! NICE DECOR!!!! NOT OUR &*(&%$$*((( HOUSE!!!!). This particular trip was our first (together) to Victoria, and - given the plethora of options available in said city - we pretty much had to play rock-scissors-paper in order to choose. Completely randomly, Oswego won.

The heated underground parking was a nice start, and the hotel looked clean and professional. The room was okay. It was smaller than we expected. We reserved a one bedroom suite and it was incredibly compact. There was a full kitchen, but no dining room, only low-backed bar stools set up at the kitchen counter. Off the kitchen was a deck, also accessed off the bedroom, which had a semi-ocean view which was decent but not spectacular. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the cooking instruments one needs to make a decent meal. It was unfortunate that there was no table on which to enjoy it. The bathroom had nice rectangular offset white tiles. They were distinctive and had a nice retro feel. The tub, however, was - though deep - quite small. More built for one than two. The shower was also quite compact and the doors swung both ways, which allowed water to leak out. The bathroom also had this poorly-crafted wooden shelf on the wall which seemed completely out of place for the type of hotel - it was blatantly poor quality and looked like someone had come after the designer and had added something that didn’t mesh with the rest of the decor at all.

In terms of cleanliness, the Oswego probably ranks among the lowest we’ve seen so far. There were crackers underneath the coffee table from previous guests. We mentioned it to the clerk on the way out. She called called either management or housecleaning or someone while we were there, but there was no real apology or concern on her part over this massive cleaning oversight. In addition, there were a couple of burnt out light-bulbs which caused us to have to do some innovative bulb-swapping in order to enjoy ourselves fully.

The Oswego is not a bad place to stay - but, as we’ve found out on subsequent visits to the city of Victoria, there are better options.

Room Tip: We booked online using CAA and chose the rack rates for said membership status.

Difficult to fault during our stay. Arrived early at mid-day and given immediate access to room. We had 1 bed suite which has modern decor and a well fitted kitchen. Location is excellent, near to all the tourist sites but relatively quiet. Also a large supermarket fairly close if you want to cook in - which we did in evening. Bistro looked good, but we didn't use. Service friendly and efficient

We booked a "special" 2 bedroom suite in May. The hotel was convenient to everything and had underground parking and a bike storage room too. The design was contemporary and extremely clean and comfortable with large bathrooms and nice sized kitchens (in our suite) we also had two large balconies overlooking nice gardens.
We will stay again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a wonderful review about your experience at the Oswego Hotel. We are so glad that you had a good time with us.

Yes the Two Bedroom suites are very spacious and great for a family or a few people. With two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, full kitchen and balcony - we think they are the best!

We hope that you come back and visit us soon.
