Beautiful setting on hill near Holland point park. Overall fantastic accommodations. Classic room. Comfortable bed. There were other guests in the living room on the night we arrived, and we appreciated the double doors between our room and the common area -- no sound penetration !

The innkeepers were so helpful and friendly. Each day they would ask us what we had planned and make sure we had the maps and directions to make our day easier. The rooms were very pretty and comfortable. I am a clean freak and this place met my standards. The breakfasts were great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only could I eat safely, Pauline made homemade gluten free breads and muffins. She understands the diet. I She even packed up the left overs for a snack. She even made buckwheat waffles for breakfast one morning so I ate what everyone else did. The house is about a 15 minutes walk to town down pretty streets. It was a nice stroll on a full stomach.

We had the pleasure to stay at this lovely B&B for the start to our vacation at the end of July 2013.
We were amazed by the spectacular room we stayed in or should I say suite. I have paid 3 times the money for less of an accommodation. Our hosts were fantastic and were very helpful with dinners and activities. Paulines breakfast was to die for. First class food with excellent presentation. the only change I would like is for the breakfast to start earlier. its a little late for early raisers.

We stayed here with my parents for one night on our trip to the Canadian Rockies. The location of the B&B is a few blocks from the water away from the busy downtown area. The decor was very nice and the rooms were very nicely appointed. The breakfast was top notch! It is served at 9 am which forced us to slow down a bit since we usually are up earlier and on the road. We took a nice walk by the water and then came back for breakfast in the sunny and quaint breakfast room. The service and food were both wonderful. Overall great stay!

I looked long and hard for a place to stay in Victoria because I wanted it to be a very special place for our "honeymoon" ( first ever holiday without kids )
From the very first enquiry Paulanne was so friendly and helpful. We booked the Orchid Suite - WOW. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was every bit as lovely as the photos on her website show. And the Orchid Suite has its own kitchenette ( we ate dinner in on our last night as we were exhausted from a very full day out and couldn't be bothered to go out)
The breakfasts are as fantastic as other posters have raved about. Paulanne and David really are wonderful friendly hosts.
On their website I saw that we could order a "package" I can't remember the exact name of it, but you can choose items to be in your room on arrival. I chose champagne, wine, cheese platter ( which I must say had incredible local produce) and truffles. All of this was presented beautifully and the champagne was ice cold.
All on all we adored Victoria and if we ever return I wouldn't waste a second looking anywhere else for accommodation.

When you think about going to a B&B in Victoria and want to be spoiled come to Ashcroft House!

After arranging with the innkeepers a special late night check in from our direct flight at night into Victoria we were set with a completely prepared room for our arrival. David and Paulanne provided every assistance possible.

Breakfasts were varied and scrumptious in a dining room looking over the street. Our main dietary needs were no pig or cow and they met this challenge head-on without difficulty. One day we even had homemade chicken sausage. It was so delicate and delicious!

On the day that we were planning on going to some local gardens for Saturday night fireworks she kindly and without asking provided a blanket to sit and watch them on. If you stay more than three nights they provides discounts for local attractions. They always made sure that we had directions if needed to go where we wanted to go. And, they also provided suggestions when asked.

The accommodations were clean and very beautiful in an older home with appropriate furniture. In the evenings sherry and cookies are available with a community family room to visit in. The home itself is just a short walk to the seawall where a nice walk can be had before or after breakfast. It is centrally located between Beacon Hill Park and downtown Victoria. The only noise that you hear in the morning is that of the regular traffic in your own home if you live in suburbia.

Room Tip: If you choose the Wedgwood room be sure to pack your sleep shields as it can get bright in the morni...

We had a great stay at the Ashcroft House B&B! Paulanne had great ideas about things to do, and discount coupons to all the attractions we wanted to go to. The fireworks at the Butchart Gardens were spectacular. Paulanne gave us a blanket and some good advice in Victoria, you can lay out your blanket on the fireworks lawn in the afternoon, and come back in the evening for the show and no one will have touched it. Canadians are very polite people. Be sure to walk through Beacon Hill Park, and look for turtles in the duck pond. The neighborhoods around the B&B have small neighborhood grocery stores. Look for smoked salmon, fresh baguettes, and fresh cut flowers. The breakfasts were great. Try a water taxi in the harbor, and have a great stay!
